Syd Barrett is one of the founding members of the band Pink Floyd. Though he was eventually replaced with another guitarist, he went on as a soloist for a few short years. Placebo is only one of the bands who have covered this somewhat mesmerizing song that appears on Barrett's first solo album. It was also covered by Soundgarden, Lost and Profound, and R.E.M.

When they began shooting Brian's singing part in the movie, he was nervous because he wasn't used to performing without his guitar. His band told him to just jump around and kick, which he did indeed. After the song was over, Brian was excited by his performance and thought he had done a great job, but then found out that they weren't actually filming yet.
