1. The song "Dark Globe" was released in 1996 on Placebo's first album. Who originally sang this song?

Answer: Syd Barrett

Syd Barrett is one of the founding members of the band Pink Floyd. Though he was eventually replaced with another guitarist, he went on as a soloist for a few short years. Placebo is only one of the bands who have covered this somewhat mesmerizing song that appears on Barrett's first solo album. It was also covered by Soundgarden, Lost and Profound, and R.E.M.
2. In which of these b-sides do these lyrics appear, "Pitter patter of the eyelid on the first role of the dice. Feel the atmosphere, it's gently laced with nicotine and spice."

Answer: Miss Moneypenny

Miss Moneypenny was a character in the James Bond films as well as the books.
3. The movie "Velvet Goldmine" was released in 1998 and it featured Brian Molko as Malcolm of a band called The Flaming Creaures. In the movie, The Flaming Creatures performed a cover of a song by T-Rex which is called what?

Answer: 20th Century Boy

When they began shooting Brian's singing part in the movie, he was nervous because he wasn't used to performing without his guitar. His band told him to just jump around and kick, which he did indeed. After the song was over, Brian was excited by his performance and thought he had done a great job, but then found out that they weren't actually filming yet.
4. Placebo covered a song called "Johnny and Mary." Who originally sang this song?

Answer: Robert Palmer

The success of this song was pushed forward with its appearance in a car commercial throughout the 1990's. It is said that Palmer had a sort of deal with the French car manufacturer.
5. Which of these lyrics can be found as a b-side track on the "Slave to the Wage" single called "Bubblegun"?

Answer: Take this migraine everywhere I go

This b-side was part of Placebo's third album, "Black Market Music". This album was not as greatly received as their last had been. In an interview with Scott Stegenga following the release, Brian was asked why they chose to give the album the title "Black Market Music". Brian answered, "To create the idea of it being something illicit, controlled, under the counter and forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge".
