The sound from the band Versailles is a little different from some of the Japanese bands. The genres the band plays are symphonic power metal and neoclassical metal. The cross-generic style term "symphonic metal" refers to the symphonic subgenres of heavy metal music. It's used to identify any metal band that has orchestral or symphonic components. Neoclassical metal is a style of heavy metal that typically has extremely technical playing and is greatly influenced by classical music. The band's debut album, "Noble," was released on July 9, 2008.
The Pillows are an alternative rock band formed in 1989. Originally a four-piece band, Kenji Ueda left in 1992. When Kenji left the band, Sawao Yamanaka took over as the leader of the band, along with Yoshiaki Manabe (lead guitarist) and Shinichiro Sato (drummer). "Moon Gold," released in 1991, was the band's debut studio album.

In Nagoya, Japan, the rock group Coldrain was founded in 2007. All of the founding band members are still with the group as of 2024 when this quiz was written. Coldrain sings all of their songs in English, in contrast to most other Japanese bands. "Final Destination," the group's debut studio album, was made available in 2009. The band's lead singer and lyricist is Masato Hayakawa. The group recorded the album "Nonnegative" in the US state of Orlando, Florida, in 2022.
The six-piece band called Uverworld was formed in 2002 in Kusatsu, Shiga, Japan. The band's debut album was called "Timeless," which was released on their new record label (gr8! Records) in 2005. Strange as it seems, the album entered the Oricon charts 33 times and eventually reached the fifth position on the chart. From November 22 to December 29, 2006, gr8! Records released a special edition of the album featuring a DVD that included three music videos and the recording of an interview with the band.
