Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This "Grace" starred with her husband in a very popular comedy show when American television was in its infancy. She unfortunately died several years before her husband. Who was she?

Answer: Gracie Allen

Recently, I was informed by a quiz taker that George Burns was the "straight man" of this duel, not Gracie. In order to confirm or to deny, I re-did my research and came across this information:

"She (Gracie) met George Burns and the two immediately launched a new partnership, with Gracie playing the role of the "straight man" and George delivering the punchlines as the comedian." Passage quoted directly from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Burns

I hope this takes care of any confusion.

Here is my original blurb:

Gracie Allen played the "straight man" for years as part of a comedy team with George Burns, her husband. Gracie would set up the jokes and then George would deliver the punch lines. They began working in vaudeville, moved into films and radio, and had their own television show called "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show", which was also known as "The Burns and Allen Show" (1950-1958).

One of the co-stars on the show was Bea Benaderet who played neighbor Blanche Morton. Ms. Benaderet would go on to appear as Pearl in "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1962-1971).

Ethel Cecile Rosalie Allen was born in July in either 1885, 1897, 1902 or 1906! Ms. Allen claimed that her birth records were destroyed in the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. However, the earthquake was in April of that year; Ms. Allen was born three months later, in July. She would reply to critics with "Well, it was a BIG earthquake!"

Gracie Allen suffered with heart disease most of her life. She died in 1964. George Burns followed her 32 years later.
2. Which "Grace" has been in movies with Eddie Murphy, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Roger Moore?

Answer: Grace Jones

Grace Jones was born Grace Mendoza on May 19, 1948 in Jamaica. In addition to being an actress, Grace gained fame as a model and a singer. In the late 1970s, she became a "muse" for Andy Warhol who photographed Grace on numerous occasions.

Grace portrayed the character of Zula in the movie "Conan the Barbarian" (1984), co-starring with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1985, she starred as May Day in the film "A View to A Kill" with Roger Moore. Grace played Helen Strange in the 1992 movie "Boomerang", which also featured Eddie Murphy.
3. Grace Van Owen was a lawyer on the successful television show "L.A. Law" (1986-1994). Who played Grace?

Answer: Susan Dey

District Attorney Grace Van Owen (Susan Dey) often went to court against the lawyers from the firm McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak. The series was set in Los Angeles and contained plots that highlighted social issues of the day, from domestic violence to abortion. During the run of the show, Grace developed a relationship with Michael Kuzak (Harry Hamlin) and quit the D.A.'s office and went to work with Michael at his firm. The series won Emmys for Best Drama on Television in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991.

Susan Dey was born in Pekin, Illinois on December 10, 1952. Before starring in "L.A. Law", Susan was cast in the part of Laurie Partridge in the "Partridge Family" (1970-1974) television show.

"Saving Grace" (2007-2010) told the story of Grace Hanadarko (Holly Hunter), a detective for the Oklahoma City Police Department. She not only solved crimes, but also wrestled with her own personal demons. Holly Hunter (born March 20, 1958) has enjoyed success in Hollywood since her first movie role in "The Burning" (1981). She has also starred in "Raising Arizona" (1984) and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for "The Piano" (1993). After moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 2007, we were so pleased to reconnect with our good friends, Grace and Kent. We all share a passion for good films, outrageous comedy shows and delicious food. And it was Kent who first got me interested in FunTrivia!

Kent and Grace named their two cats Sly and Boots, while their dogs were named Sadie and Emmie.
