Victor Fleming directed many films from 1916 to 1948. His most well-known include "Gone with the Wind" (1939), for which he won an Oscar for Best Director, "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), and "Captains Courageous" (1937). Before his film career took off, he was a photographer in WWI.
