Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to the gospel of Mark, what was the SECOND miracle of Jesus?

Answer: Healing Peter's mother-in-law

According to the Gospel of MARK, the SECOND miracle of Jesus was healing Peter's mother in law (Mark 1: 32,) with first miracle being healing the man with the unclean spirit (Mark 1:25-26). None of the synoptic Gospels seem to say the same thing about the order of the miracles of Jesus, so according to the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus' second miracle was healing a Centurion's servant of paralysis (Matthew 8: 5.) According to the Gospel of Luke, Jesus' SECOND miracle was escaping from a multitude, and according to the Gospel of John, the SECOND miracle was healing a nobleman's son of fever (John 4: 46.) Whichever comes first, the one thing that is pretty certain is how spectacular these miracles must have been to see.
2. Who was the SECOND oldest man to ever live, as recorded in the Bible?

Answer: Jared

While Methuslah definitely sets the record, living to a ripe old age of 969 years (Genesis 5: 27,) Jared was the second longest living man in the Bible, living a whopping total of 962 years (Genesis 5: 20). For interest, Enoch lived 365 years (Genesis 5: 23) and Lamech lived for 777 years (Genesis 5: 31.)
3. What is the SECOND longest book in the Bible (according to the number of chapters)?

Answer: Isaiah

While Psalms takes the record as being the longest book in the Bible (with 150 chapters), Isaiah comes a not-so-close second, with a total of 66 chapters. However, while Psalms takes the prize for having the largest amount of chapters, Jeremiah is in fact the longest book when it comes down to counting verses and words, at least in the original Hebrew version of the Bible.
4. According to Genesis, who was the SECOND person to be created?

Answer: Eve

Adam was the first person in the Bible to be created. Eve was created after Adam, and was formed from Adam's rib. This story can be found in Genesis, chapters 1 and 2.
5. The SECOND of the Ten plagues of Egypt was a plague of locusts.

Answer: False

Actually, the SECOND plague inflicted upon Egypt was a plague of frogs (Exodus 8: 2-6.) The first plague of Egypt was the Nile turning into blood (Exodus 7: 17-25). Locusts were the eighth plague of Egypt (Exodus 10: 1-20.)
6. Who was the SECOND murderer named in the Bible?

Answer: Lamech

Cain was the first murderer of the Bible (he killed his brother, Abel- Genesis 4: 8). Lamech was the second murderer identified in the Bible, and he killed a young man, who apparently hurt him first (Genesis 4: 23).
7. What is the SECOND book of the Old Testament?

Answer: Exodus

While Genesis takes the record as being the first book in the Bible, Exodus comes second, and has a total of 40 chapters. Moses is believed to have written all four of the above mentioned books.
8. What is the SECOND-to-last book of the New Testament?

Answer: Jude

The last book of the New Testament (in fact of the whole Bible,) is Revelation. However, the book of Jude comes just before the book of Revelation, and contains only 1 chapter.
9. Who was the SECOND human sinner in the Bible, as described in Genesis?

Answer: Adam

Eve was the first human sinner in the Bible, and is responsible for what we today call "Original Sin", as she did not obey God, and ate the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. However, Adam was the SECOND sinner, as he, not too long after Eve, also ate from the Tree of Good and Evil. After this, they were banished from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).
10. In Revelation, four horsemen are mentioned, who will play a big part in the Apocalypse. What is the colour of the SECOND horseman's horse?

Answer: Red

The prophecy of the four horsemen can be found in Revelation 6. Each of the four horsemen will come into the world, each of them bringing something terrible. The first rider comes on a white horse, and is believed by most scholars to represent the Antichrist (Revelation 6:2). The SECOND horseman comes on a RED horse, and he is believed to represent war and persecution, as he carries a sword, as well as the red colour of his horse (Revelation 6:4). The third horseman comes riding a black horse, and is believed to represent injustice and a scarcity of food. He carries scales, and says "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius," (Revelation 6:6.) The fourth horseman comes on a pale horse, and is bluntly named Death, and brings with him death (Revelation 6:8.)
