Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Psalm 121 is one of fifteen psalms which are grouped together as the 'Songs of Ascent', encompassing psalms 120 to 134 inclusive. They are believed to have been sung by pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem, which is located on a hill, while other sources suggest that they were sung by priests ascending the steps to the temple in the city. Both could be true.

While the psalm is often attributed to King David, it is by no means certain that he was the author. It is tempting to believe so since he would have spent time in the hills while working as a shepherd, and many commentaries I have looked at to help with these details are definite in referring to him as the writer.

What is indisputable is that the psalm's advice is to trust the Lord entirely as a protector. He never sleeps and will shield the believer from evil in all circumstances. This would be a reassurance to those undertaking what could be a perilous journey to Jerusalem, and the psalm is often associated with journeys even in modern times.

One other point to mention is that more recent versions have reinterpreted the first line to read 'from where will my help come?' rather than the KJV version which seems to indicate that help will come from the hills. This may well be valid since the psalm goes on to make it clear that God is the source of all help needed.

Whatever your interpretation, I hope you remembered the psalm and were able to complete the blanks left for you.
