Justin Jefferson's outstanding season was rewarded as he was one of only two players unanimously selected for the Associated Press' All-Pro 1st Team for the 2022 regular season. A first round pick from LSU in the 2020 draft, Jefferson has been elected to the Pro Bowl each of his first three seasons in the NFL.

In his rookie season, Jefferson's 1,400 receiving yards set a new NFL rookie record.

He was the starting quarterback in 10 Super Bowls, winning seven championships. At the time of his retirement, Brady held a vast number of major quarterback records including most passing yards and touchdown passes.

A 15-time Pro Bowler and 3-time NFL Most Valuable Player, he was unanimously selected to the NFL's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2019.

Nick Bosa led the NFL in sacks during the regular season in 2022 and was a key component in the 49ers defense, ranked by many metrics as the top in the league. Bosa had 15.5 sacks the previous year and was also the 2019 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. He is the son of former defensive end John Bosa, and brother of Joey Bosa, linebacker for the San Diego Chargers in 2022.

Buffalo Bills' defensive back Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle during the Monday Night Football game. The medical personnel for both teams rushed to provide emergency support for Hamlin. Thankfully, after receiving treatment in a hospital for nine days, Hamlin was released to rehabilitate from home. This was the first NFL game canceled and not rescheduled, in over 30 years (games were canceled in 1987 due to a player strike).

Hamlin's charitable organization received over $8 million in donations in the first 10 days after the tragedy. The assistant trainer for the Buffalo Bills, Denny Kellington, who performed on-field CPR, received a 5th place vote for NFL MVP at the end of the regular season.

Answer: Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 14-3 record and the #1 seed in the AFC. He threw for a league-leading 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns during the regular season. He also ran for another 358 yards and four touchdowns. He won the MVP award in a landslide with 48 of the 50 first place votes.

Brock Purdy had an amazing run during his rookie year going undefeated all the way to the NFC Championship when he was unfortunately injured during the game and the 49ers lost. His passer rating through his first five starts is the highest for a quarterback's first five starts in the NFL in over 20 years. Purdy wore jersey #13 in homage to former HOF quarterback Dan Marino.

Answer: Franco Harris

Franco Harris passed away in December 2022. He played running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1972-1983 (and for the Seattle Seahawks in 1984). He won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was elected to nine consecutive Pro Bowls, and was a member of the 1970s All-Decade Team.

He was the key player in one of the NFL's most famous plays in league history, "The Immaculate Reception". During a playoff game in December 1972, as time was about to expire, he caught a deflected pass and ran it for a touchdown - giving the Steelers franchise its first ever playoff win, 13-7 vs. Oakland Raiders.

The Kansas City Chiefs represented the AFC in Super Bowl LVII. This was the fifth Super Bowl appearance for the Chiefs, and the third in four years. Andy Reid, in his 10th year as head coach of the Chiefs, directed the team to a 14-3 regular season record and the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs bracket.

The Chiefs were originally part of the American Football League (AFL) before the AFL and NFL merged, beginning with the 1970 regular season.

The Philadelphia Eagles represented the NFC in Super Bowl LVII. Nick Sirianni, in his second season as head coach of the Eagles, helmed the team to a 14-3 record and the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs bracket. In addition to a strong offensive attack, the Eagles were aided by its stout defensive that led the league in sacks and least passing yards allowed.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII. Patrick Mahomes at quarterback led his team to victory and secured the Super Bowl MVP trophy as well. In addition to his passing yards, he had 44 rushing yards while playing with a high ankle sprain injury. Mahomes was the first player to achieve Super Bowl MVP, AP NFL Regular Season MVP, and lead the league in passing yards and passing TDs all in the same season.

Super Bowl LVII saw the first matchup with brothers on the opposing teams: Jason Kelce was the starting center for the Eagles and Travis Kelce was the starting tight end for the Chiefs.
