Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This season saw the return of which "Canada's Drag Race" twist?

Answer: The Golden Beaver

Eleven queens walked into the work room on Day 1 but weren't informed of the return of the Golden Beaver until their second maxi-challenge, at which point it was possible to face elimination. Just as in the previous season (and "Canada vs. the World 2"), the Golden Beaver allowed the winner of a maxi-challenge to save one of the bottom three queens from facing the Lip Sync for their Life.

The queen with this power could employ any reasoning they so chose to hand off the Beaver and it was used until episode five.
2. The first week of the competition saw the queens performing to an original song, but based on first impressions, some were awarded which of these?

Answer: Roses

The queens were brought into the work room on day one to introduce themselves to each other, the judges, and the world, but before creating lyrics and segments for the original track "Go Off Queen", they also had to wow the panel with their entrance looks and runways.

This week, the top queens, who gave the best first impressions, were given roses while the bottom queens were given thorns. Fortunately, none of the thorn queens went home. Instead, Makayla Couture and The Virgo Queen were the top two rose-bearers and lip synced for the win (with the latter taking it).
3. For their second challenge, a comedy skit, the queens had to make instructional videos for which of these viewers?

Answer: Aliens

With all eleven queens still in the running, everyone was split into three groups and asked to make a short video designed to teach aliens about life on Earth. The queens were given basic topics (manners, sexuality, and family), but how they discussed those was completely up to their acting, scripting, and video editing. On the main stage, the queens walked in garments that told a story of 'time and place', and Perla won the challenge despite being in the bottom the previous episode. Tara Nova and Tiffany Ann Co. were put in the bottom and Tara, the only queen from the east coast, went home.
4. For the Lip Sync Slay-Offs, how many queens had to lip sync more than once?

Answer: Two

Unlike in Season 4 of "Canada's Drag Race", where queens battled for the win in a bracket that sent the bottom queens to a final Lip Sync for their Lives, Season 5 had the ten remaining queens split into two schoolyard-picked teams of five to go head to head and save themselves from the bottom.

The team with the most points would be safe as a whole, but only the losing queens from each match-up (and on the losing team) would be in the bottom. The Virgo Queen won, overall, and gave the Golden Beaver to Jaylene Time, leaving Perla and Tiffany Ann Co. to lip sync, again, to Avril Lavigne's "Hot". Tiffany went home this time, her second in the bottom two.
5. The queens had a design challenge in their fourth week, creating sellable 'fast fashion' looks. They had to walk the runway in another garment themed around which of these?

Answer: Slow-motion

Though the queens were told that they would be creating 'fast fashion' looks for their design challenge this week, they were also required to walk the runway in intentionally-brought 'slow-mo couture' designs they curated from their home collections, specifically to look good when slowed down and with a wind machine.

This week's challenge was won, perhaps unexpectedly, by Minhi Wang while Sanjina DaBish Queen, who won the week's mini-challenge, was sent home lip syncing against Uma Gahd.
6. In week 5, the queens participated in girl groups, singing and dancing to one of two original tracks. One of the songs was 'Duh!'; what was the other?

Answer: Not!

Marking the half-way point of the season, the eight remaining queens were required to split into two competing girl groups, each of which had to be themed around the 1990s and had to craft a song with original lyrics and choreography on the main stage.

While one group of queens sang "Duh!", the other sang "Not!", and after a 'grunge and glamour' theme on the runway, the judges put the bottom from each song into a risky position. Makayla Couture used the Golden beaver to save Helena Poison while Xana sent Jaylene Time home to "Here Comes the Sunshine" by Love, Inc.
7. How many queens were saved by the Wooden Beaver after finishing 'Snatch Game'?

Answer: Three

The queens had to bring their celebrity impersonations to the Snatch Game in episode six, and perhaps unsurprisingly, very few of them succeeded in any regard. In fact, in a twist, Brooke crowned Xana (who portrayed Bettie Page) the winner before the queens even left the game show set, announcing that she had the power of the brand-new Wooden Beaver. With this, in Untucked, she could save one of her fellow queens from the bottom...who would be able to save another queen...who would save a final queen.

This meant that, in the end, Uma Gahd, Makayla Couture, and The Virgo Queen would face off in a three-way lip sync, and Uma would be sent home.
8. The final design challenge of the season had the queens making new outfits, but for whom?

Answer: Brooke Lynn Hytes

Although the queens, earlier, had a fast fashion design challenge, their seventh challenge of the season brought the sewing machines back out, this time asking them to create garments not for themselves, but for Brooke Lynn Hytes to model on the runway.

The de facto makeover challenge of the season, it meant impressing the original queen's aesthetic upon a willing and collaborative subject. The queens themselves had to bring their own looks as well, from home, themed around the 'Wardrobe Malfunction' prompt. Minhi Wang won this week's challenge while Xana was eliminated in sixth place.
9. This season had a de facto reunion episode in the form of a chat show with the final five. Was the Miss Congeniality award presented during this episode?

Answer: No

The Miss Congeniality prize was actually given out in the finale (where the previous year's winner, Kitten Kaboodle, gave the title and cash prize to Jaylene Tyme). Instead, the final five queens headed into the semifinals with a casual chat with Brad Goreski on the main stage, appearing on his mock talk show, 'What Just Happened?!'.

After a 'Statuesque' runway, Helena Poison finally took a maxi-challenge win while Makayla Couture sent Perla home, leaving viewers with their final four competitors.
10. Which queen won "Canada's Drag Race" Season 5?

Answer: The Virgo Queen

Mimicking the finale of Season 4, the finalists were tasked with writing their own original tracks and performing special choreography on the main stage to conclude the competition. After working with singer-songwriter Orville Peck and showing off their songs, they headed to the main stage in their coronation eleganza, reunited with the eliminated queens, and gave their final statements.

In the end, The Virgo Queen and Makayla Couture faced off in a lip sync to Shania Twain's "From This Moment On" and The Virgo Queen won the title, the crown and sceptre, and the $100,000 CAD prize from Trojan, being crowned the new Queen of the North.
