Series writers Mike Flanagan, James Flanagan, and Jeff Howard won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Screenplay for the episode "Book VI: Acts of the Apostles."
4. Belgravia

The 19th century shows up on television often, perhaps because the luscious costumes and sets are exciting to create. Released in 2020 by ITV and Epic, "Belgravia" demonstrated friction between nouveau rich and old aristocracy in an affluent neighborhood of London.
5. The Irregulars

7. The Stand

King has been quoted as saying it was difficult to turn the 1,000-plus page novel to the screen in any format.
8. The Outsider

Stephen King's novel "The Outsider" turned into a mini-series that appeared on HBO in 2020. Jason Bateman was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of a little league coach arrested for murder.

It started as a standard-seeming whodunit but then supernatural elements appeared -- it has been compared to Netflix's hit "Stranger Things" in that way.
9. Chapelwaite

Stephen King was also behind the television series "Chapelwaite," though you wouldn't know it for its name. It was based on King's novella "Jerusalem's Lot." "Chapelwaite" appeared on Epix in 2021, and, while it differed from much of the original source, it was still about a man inheriting a home in a small town and learning some awful secrets about the local history and his family's role in it.
10. Life & Beth

Amy Schumer produced and starred in "Life & Beth," which appeared on Hulu in 2022. The first season followed the story of 40ish Beth, a wine salesperson, who returned to her hometown after her mother's death, and what happened as she interacted with relatives, friends, and boyfriends, old and new.
11. Expecting Amy

An Amy Schumer vehicle, "Expecting Amy" was a documentary miniseries released in 2020 on HBO Max. It followed the story of Amy's pregnancy, which included medical complications, and the creation of her stand-up tour that same year.

Amy Schumer produced and starred in this cooking show along with her celebrity chef husband Chris Fisher. Debuting on the Food Network in 2020, in this show, Chris taught Amy and the viewers how to cook, while Amy mixed drinks. 13. Dopesick

Covering the opioid epidemic in its eight episodes, Hulu's "Dopesick" was released in 2021. It centered on a small town doctor played by Michael Keaton, and also included storylines about the family behind the drug and the U.S. attorneys trying to stop the epidemic.
14. The Fall of the House of Usher

Opioids and greed are the roots of evil in this series based on a mix of Edgar Allan Poe stories. "The Fall of the House Usher" followed the story of a man, Roderick Usher, who developed a fatally addictive opioid that made him very rich, and killed untold numbers of people. It was released by Netflix in 2023.
15. Painkiller

Netflix's series on the opioid epidemic was "Painkiller," released in 2023. It looked at the crisis from the point of view of the Sackler family, who created and marketed the drug, as well as a father who became addicted to it, a young medical sales person who became caught up in the money the crisis brought in, and a persistent lawyer who was undaunted by the Sackler family's power and wealth.
