Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The fictional town of Jericho is located in which state?

Answer: Kansas

The fictional town of Jericho, Kansas is supposed to be in western part of the state, about 70 miles from the Kansas/Colorado border. It is also supposed to be near the junction of I-70, U.S. 83, and U.S. 40. In real life, these highways describe the location of Oakley, Kansas.
2. In the pilot episode a young boy viewed a mushroom cloud while standing on his home's roof. Where had this nuclear explosion supposedly taken place?

Answer: Denver, CO

Although it is impossible to see all the way to Denver from the supposed location of Jericho, we are lead to believe that the young boy saw the mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion occurring in Denver, Colorado. This cloud was seen over the crest of a distant mountain range, even though no mountains can be seen from western Kansas.
3. What mysterious character and his family moved to Jericho just before the bombs were exploded?

Answer: Robert Hawkins

The character of Robert Hawkins is one of the show's central characters. Hawkins told the cover story that he had been a police office in St. Louis, and received training for nuclear disasters from the Department of Homeland Security post 9-11. Hawkins is played by Lennie James.

As he drove out of town he saw the mushroom cloud and knew there was big trouble.
