Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. FOX released a show called "Reunion" which featured an episode for every year of the relationship of a group of friends. What year was the focus of the first episode?

Answer: 1986

The show was about six friends in 2006. One has been murdered, and the other five are all suspects in the case, but to figure out what really happened, they have to go back to every year over the past twenty years to find out what went wrong. FOX had the idea to run hour-long episodes to show one year (per episode), and when it was all over, they planned to have a new set of friends with a new problem.

The show was canned in November due to low ratings in its very first season.
2. What TV show about four real estate agents was canceled by ABC in November 2005?

Answer: Hot Properties

Another show gets the axe in the first season. "Hot Properties" was created by one of the minds behind the popular show, "Frasier", but this show never managed to take off. The show was set in Manhattan as four friends/co-workers/real estate agents solve business and personal problems together. This show was kicked off due to low ratings (once again).
3. Which popular Jennifer Garner show was canceled in its sixth season in November 2005?

Answer: Alias

Jennifer Garner starred as Sydney Bristow, a double agent working for the CIA in this popular ABC hit. Why the cancellation? The plots began to get repetitive, and the show just wasn't as fresh as it used to be. Also, Jennifer Garner's pregnancy didn't really help much, so the show was put to rest and was set to air its final episode the following spring.
4. Who was the star of the canceled show "Three Wishes"?

Answer: Amy Grant

This show didn't only make a dream come true for six episodes, they made three dreams come true in every episode. "Three Wishes" starred Amy Grant as she went around the country to help those in need by granting (I know 'Grant granted') three wishes to families in need.

Unfortunately, "Three Wishes" didn't get its wish and the show was canceled by NBC in November 2005 after only six episodes.
5. What best describes the show "Threshold" which was canceled in November 2005?

Answer: Aliens and the paranormal

"Threshold" starred Carla Gugino as a government analyst and a group of scientists, and government agents who fought enemy aliens as they spawned in humans around the United States. After under par ratings, CBS pulled the show from their Tuesday schedule and never stuck it back on. Meanwhile, two other alien-based shows, "Invasion" and "Surface" were picked up for the next season.
6. "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" was also canceled by NBC this year. Did the final episode air?

Answer: Yes

Despite the horrible ratings of this reality show spin-off, NBC continued to air "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" all the way until its finale in December where one lucky winner became an employee at the company. Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" however was continued into another season.
At the time of her reality show, Martha Stewart was busy. She had just been freed from the burdens of prison and house arrest, and she had two shows under her belt. The second show, "Martha", was not canceled.
7. The popular show "7th Heaven" was also canceled this year. How many seasons of the show were aired?

Answer: Ten

The show followed a family (containing seven kids) as they went through the trials of life, and the show continued to be extremely popular in the later seasons. Why was this hit canceled? WB was simply paying the actors too much money to make the show. They decided not to create more episodes since it was costing them too much money.
8. What TV show about military troops was canceled by FX in 2005?

Answer: Over There

The show was about a platoon in Iraq and their families at home, and although the show only lasted thirteen episodes, it was quite popular. With lots of action and drama, the show gained fans in many people from ages 18 and up, and its one season caused many people to look differently at the war with Iraq.
9. "The Restaurant" was canceled after two seasons.

Answer: True

"The Restaurant" was one of many cooking reality shows of 2005, and although it started out popular, it fizzled out and "Hell's Kitchen" became the reigning cooking show. "The Restaurant" starred some chefs working in a restaurant in New York, and it was canceled in June 2005.
10. An A&E show about a family who owned a mortuary was canceled back in September 2005. What was it called?

Answer: Family Plots

Okay, maybe this show was a bit like HBO's "Six Feet Under" which also ended in 2005 (after five great seasons), but it never had much of a large fanbase like "Six Feet Under". While "Six Feet Under" was able to finish their show dramatically in what was hailed as one of the most dramatic finales of the year, "Family Plots" was just buried like many other canceled shows.

It was simply a quick, painless execution.
