Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who presents the show?

Answer: Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly

Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly really make the show special, with Bruce's jokes and Tess' beautiful dresses she wears on 'Strictly Come Dancing' (otherwise known as Strictly). Whilst Tess was on maternity leave, Series 1 winner Natasha Kaplinsky presented the show in her place.
2. Who's missing? Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and ___.

Answer: Craig Revel Horwood

Craig Revel Horwood is known as the one mean judge on the show. He is harsh, and looks mainly for quality of the contestant's dance, rather than other things such as enthusisam, effort and performance. Craig choreographs West End shows along with Arlene and Bruno, whilst Len is an ex-professional dancer.
3. Each celebrity is paired with a professional dancer, who helps them improve. There are two professional couples who are married. Which couples are these?

Answer: Darren and Lilia and James and Ola

Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova are champions in 'Strictly' and out of it. They have won a world title and many other competitions. Between them, they have five 'Strictly' trophies, as they have both won a series and a Christmas special (Lilia has won two Christmas specials). James and Ola have won titles in Europe, but unfortunatly, no 'Strictly' titles.
4. One male professional dancer fell over on the dance floor during his and his partner's show dance. Which professional was this?

Answer: Ian Waite

Ian slipped over on the dance floor during his showdance with celebrity Zoe Ball. Unfortunately, they had just been voted out, taking the third place title of Series 3.
5. Which celebrity won Series 2?

Answer: Jill Halfpenny

Jill Halfpenny paired Darren Bennett in Series 2, and took the series title on the famous studio dance floor. Jill was awarded the first ever perfect score of 40/40 in the final for her Jive to the song 'I'm Still Standing' by Elton John.
6. Kenny and Gabby Logan entered the show together, and competed against each other.

Answer: True

Kenny and Gabby Logan entered the show in Series 5 as a married couple. However they were competing against each other with a professional married couple, James and Ola. Kenny was the ninth couple to be voted off and Gabby the fourth, which was suprising as Gabby was predicted to make it to the final.
7. When you win 'Strictly Come Dancing', you are awarded a trophy. What does the trophy take shape of?

Answer: Glitter ball

'Strictly' is famous for its Glitter ball trophy, with the show's emblem of the front. You also get a plaque, with your name on so you will always remember your triumph!
8. In the final, the remaining contestants do a group dance. What dance is it?

Answer: Viennese Waltz

It is tradition on the show for the finalists to do a group Viennese Waltz. They move smoothly around in a circle, following each other, before one couple enters the centre of the circle and does a special move or a lift.
9. Lifts are banned in this programme for almost all dances. The only exceptions to this rule are the freestyle showdance in the final, and a ballroom dance called the what?

Answer: American Smooth

The American Smooth was introduced in Series 4. This dance allows lifts, as the question states, and it also allows to come in and out of hold whenever you want. No other ballroom dances are allowed lifts or to come out of hold, so it is entertaining to watch these dances. The lifts are always crowd pleasers! The most commonly used ones are called 'The Fish' and 'The Crucifix'.
10. At the end of each show, Bruce and Tess say the famous 'Strictly' catchphrase. What is this catchphrase?

Answer: 'Keep dancing!'

Bruce and Tess never fail to say this cathphrase. It sometimes makes you sad though as you think the show is over for another week, or even a year! 'Strictly' isn't complete without this last sentence.
