Tess Daly, wife of ITV game show host Vernon Kay, provides the glamour and fashion on the show and has the job of interviewing the couples after they have received their comments from the judges and is an expert in administering sympathy and encouragement. Natasha Kaplinsky did help present part of series 2 when Tess was on maternity leave and Claudia Winkleman presents the weekday spin-off show, 'It Takes Two'. Holly Willoughby presents the ITV reality series 'Dancing on Ice'.

Len Goodman is the head judge and has the dubious task of having the casting vote if the judges' votes tie. Both Len and Bruno also judge the American version of the show and spend their week flying back and forth between London and Hollywood. Len was a professional dancer in his teens and twenties and each week he performs his master class on 'It Takes Two' with presenter, Claudia Winkleman.

Series one had only 8 couples competing and was won by newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and her partner Brendan Cole. 'Eastenders' actor Christopher Parker came second despite being marked bottom by the judges on three occasions prior to the final.

Darren and Lilia, who have both been series winners of 'Strictly Come Dancing', married in January 1999. In addition to competing on the TV series they run their own dance studio in Sheffield and in 2008 they were winners of the Carl Alan award for Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing.

Jill, with partner Darren Bennett, won series two of 'Strictly Come Dancing' and they also won both the 2004 and 2008 Christmas specials. Louisa was losing semi-finalist in series 4, Matt was runner up in series 5 and Jessie only lasted until week four of series 6.

Darren Gough won series 3 with his partner Lilia Kopylova and Mark Ramprakash won series 4 with dancer Karen Hardy. Darren played for Yorkshire and England and earned the nicknames 'Rhino' and 'Dazzler'. Mark has played for Surrey since 2001 and he has also played for his country.

His nicknames are 'Ramps', 'Bloodaxe' and 'The Hips' which may have stemmed from his appearance on 'Strictly', where they caused judge Arlene to swoon week after week.

Jimmy Tarbuck was forced to quit series 4 for health reasons. Kelly Brook left series 5 due to the death of her father and John Sergeant retired from series 6, because the public were voting him in at the expense of much better dancers. Comedian Jason Wood didn't withdraw from the competition, but was the first person to be voted out of series 1.

Answer: The Argentine Tango

Vincent and Flavia were UK Argentine Tango champions in 2006 and World Argentine Tango finalists 2005/2006. They were also UK Professional Ten Dance Champions 2002-2006 and UK Professional Show Dance Champions 2003-2006. In 'Strictly Come Dancing' they have both reached the final, Flavia in series 5 and Vincent in series 6, but both lost out on the trophy.

Answer: Camilla Dallerup, Erin Boag, Anton du Beke and Brendan Cole

Camilla, Erin, Anton and Brendan appeared in series 1 partnering antiques expert David Dickinson, rugby player Martin Offiah, singer Lesley Garrett and newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky respectively. Brendan fared the best in series 1 by taking the mirror-ball trophy.

In series 6, Camilla partnered actor Tom Chambers, Erin partnered rugby player Austin Healey, Anton partnered actress Gillian Taylforth and Brendan partnered presenter Lisa Snowdon. Camilla fared the best in this series by winning the crown at her 6th attempt.

Alesha Dixon and her partner Matthew Cutler won series 5 with a whopping 22 perfect scores of 10. She was favourite to win from week three onwards, because of the scores and comments she was receiving from the judges. In the final she danced the Waltz to 'A Time For Us' based on the music from the movie 'Romeo and Juliet', the Cha Cha Cha to Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love' and the Jive to T Rex's 'We Love to Boogie'.

Tom married his teenage sweetheart Clare Harding in October 2008 in Derbyshire. He had to change the date from a Saturday to Sunday so that he could fulfill his commitments to 'Strictly'. The honeymoon had to be suspended until the end of the competition and Camilla was knocking on the hotel bedroom door the day after the wedding to resume his dance training.

Alan Dedicoat, born December 1st, 1954 in Hollywood Worcestershire, has become a familiar voice of Saturday night. He has been 'The Voice of the Balls' for the National Lottery for a good many years and then joined 'Strictly' another Saturday night show as well. He also announces the money totals pledged on BBC1's annual charity night 'Children in Need'.

Rugby player Kenny and sports presenter Gaby married on 19th July 2001 and have twins Reuban and Lois born 28th July 2005. They partnered husband and wife team James and Ola Jordan on the show and Kenny fared the better making it through to week 9. Gabby was voted off in week 4.

Although the show dance does give an opportunity to be creative, the judges were appalled at the sight of athlete Colin and Erin both dressed in white tie and tails dancing with female dummies. The performance seemingly didn't impress the audience either, because they lost out on the title to Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova.

Although all the dancers above scored a perfect 40 points, Jill Halfpenny's Jive was the first to be awarded the marks in series 2 of the programme. She and partner Darren danced to Elton John's 'I'm Still Standing' and it has become a famous dance on the show and a standard which all other Jives are measured by.
