Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Bloodstone requires a new owner because what has happened to Ulysses Bloodstone?

Answer: He has died

While the world is aware of many of the heroes that save them on a regular basis, the truth is that real monsters dwell closer to home alongside those who hunt them. Perhaps the most prolific group of hunters to protect people from these monsters are the Bloodstones, who use the supernatural relic, also known as the Bloodstone, to keep evil at bay.

A weapon unlike any other, it seeks a new possessor as its previous owner, Ulysses Bloodstone, has died. And so, on one night, his funeral his held and hunters have gathered for a ceremonial hunt to determine who shall receive the relic next.
2. Is Verussa Bloodstone related to Elsa by blood?

Answer: No

As hunter Jack Russell arrives for the ceremony he finds himself in a massive room filled with odd, archived trophies and other waiting hunters. As he circles a book with a fascinating, red stone he's introduced to some of the others.

In the hallway, Elsa Bloodstone comes across her mourning stepmother and the two reunite after twenty years. Elsa's only there to collect what's hers, but Verussa can't help but stick her with verbal barbs, indicating that Elsa became too much like her mother and was the greatest disappointment in her father's life despite all of his efforts.
3. The Bloodstone, as the hunters discover, will be found where?

Answer: On the hide of an awful beast

Verussa introduces the hunters by their kills in the ceremonial hall and provides a brief but stirring eulogy for the deceased, her husband, indicating that it pained him not to present for the big hunt. That said, he had other ways of making his appearance.

With that, Verussa has her servant crank open Ulysses' casket, presenting him to the others and allowing him to speak as an animatronic. From 'beyond the veil', he claims that a monster unlike anything they've seen thus far will be released on the sacred grounds and the hunter who slays it will become the new leader, taking possession of the Bloodstone.

There is only one Bloodstone and there can only be one keeper. There are weapons scattered out in the garden. It's up to them to succeed and claim the relic from the beast's hide.
4. Who is first to head out on the hunt, by random drawing?

Answer: Jack

Verussa lets the hunters know that the Bloodstone will be affixed to the hide of the beast they are required to hunt and when it is, it will make the beast quite angry. The hunters are told that there is no special treatment, even for Elsa, who would have received the relic as birthright had she not forsaken her family. Those who do not survive will be honoured appropriately, but it shall be every hunter for themselves.

Drawing small stones, Jack Russell is declared to be the first to depart. The others will follow. As a horn sounds, the monster is let loose. Jack makes his leave through the elaborate garden as the others chant their credo.
5. Do all of the hunters work together to locate the monster in the garden?

Answer: No

As Jack heads into the garden he proceeds with caution, listening as other hunters are released. He turns a corner and comes across Elsa and suggests that the two of them pass each other by instead of fighting. The two are, of course, set upon by one of the other hunters though Elsa gets the upper hand and flees with a massive axe in her possession. A monster roars in the distance.

Elsa follows a set of steaming footprints through the garden maze and finds herself face-to-face with another hunter, this one who she's forced to kill to protect herself.
6. What does Elsa find in her Aunt Frances' tomb?

Answer: Keys

It's Jack who finds the monster first, and it's a good thing because it was never his intent to kill it. The monster isn't doing well with the Bloodstone weakening him, but Jack's there to help-- and for the last time, he says!-- as long as he can stay alive. Jack in the meantime, has to survive the other hunters.

Jack rushes into a mausoleum and finds Elsa already hiding inside tending to her wounds. As Jack assists her, the pair both admit to not wanting to hunt. Jack actually admits to not wanting the stone. They agree to a truce-- if Jack can take the monster out alive, Elsa can have the stone and be rid of her family forever.

The two escape using keys found in the tomb of Elsa's Aunt Frances. Believing she would come back from the dead, Frances knew she'd need an exit strategy.
7. What is the name of the monster?

Answer: Ted

After Jack and Elsa emerge from the mausoleum, Elsa directs Jack to a spot in the maze where he can use a provided explosive and crack a hole in the wall that can allow him and the monster to escape. Jack, heading that direction, tells Elsa that if she encounters the monster, she'll be fine if she treats him like an old friend and refers to him by his actual name: Ted.

Elsa comes across Ted as he dispatches one of the other hunters and despite the obvious horror of the situation, she lets him know that Jack is waiting for him. As the pair rush off, Jack blows up the wall, making a crack large enough for Ted to escape into the foggy woods outside. While he departs, Elsa pulls the Bloodstone loose. Jack goes to retrieve it for her, but the relic blasts him back, indicating that he, too, is a monster.
8. Generally, Jack only transforms into his other self under what circumstances?

Answer: During the full moon

Verussa and the other hunters arrive to find that Jack is actually a monster, having been harmed by the Bloodstone, and they condemn him for desecrating their sacred night. For aiding the enemy, Elsa is likewise tasered. Before she falls, she tells the others that none of them should have the Bloodstone.

Both Jack and Elsa awaken locked away in a cage and Jack tries to explain that he would never intentionally hurt anyone. The hunting he does is performed by a part of him that he locks away. Once a month-- during the full moon-- that side unlocks, and with the full moon five days away, he reasons, they should be fine to think of a plan. The problem, as Elsa explains, is that the Bloodstone can accelerate that process; five days can become five seconds.

Of course, they run out of time to think of a real plan. Jack tells Elsa not to break contact no matter what. As he tries to take in her scent he says that he needs to remember her, and when Verussa and the hunters arrive, he begs them to relent. If they don't kill him, he can't promise mercy.
9. All of the hunters that survive the ceremony are defeated in battle by who of these?

Answer: Elsa

Verussa does not hold back as she is eager to do away with both the monster and her step-daughter once and for all. Wielding the Bloodstone and chanting its spell, she allows it to work its magic, transforming Jack into his other form with ease. He morphs before their very eyes, becoming a ravenous werewolf.

It's not to Verussa's plan, however, when Jack grabs her arm and pulls her to the cage, prompting her servants to taser him into submission. Instead, he breaks through the roof of the cage, freeing himself into the room and attacking the guards with reckless abandon. Verussa uses the Bloodstone to keep the beast at bay, but in the heat of battle, Elsa is able to free herself and fight off the other hunters, killing them and pulling Verussa off the beast.

Elsa pockets the Bloodstone motions to approach Jack, still in his werewolf form, but in his rage he nearly attacks her. Fortunately, she locks her gaze on him and he's able to recognize her through the fury. Instead, he flees the building, leaving Elsa behind and heading out into the night.
10. The Bloodstone is destroyed in the climactic fight.

Answer: False

As Elsa recovers herself, so does Verussa. The step-mother faults her for being such a disgrace to her father's memory and prepares to fire a weapon on her, but Ted falls in through the ceiling and grabs onto the Bloodstone matriarch, crushing her and burning her to ash. Elsa thanks him and points him in the direction Jack headed before taking a seat and realizing her new role as the possessor of the Bloodstone.

Jack awakens out in the woods with Ted waiting on him (and a warm French press full of coffee). Jack asks if Elsa's okay and Ted suggests she is. The two joke about coming to each others' rescue and think about breakfast.
