Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "What If... Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?" Which space-faring foe attempts to attack Xandar?

Answer: Ronan the Accuser

In one universe, Thanos has been killed, felled by Ronan the Accuser. Nebula, alone, would be taken in by Nova Prime, joining Nova Corps and becoming one of the forces of Planet Xandar. Unfortunately for her, Ronan would arrive there as well.

Years later, Nebula finds Yondu Udonta's body on a ruined Xandar, a planet locked away for fifty years behind a protective, isolating shield. What she quickly discovers is that Yondu had located the schematics of the shield, having the only method of bringing it down. Nova Prime tells her to investigate, and that's when it all comes crashing down. Not only is Nova Prime revealed to be scheming against the planet, intending to hand it over to Ronan, but she's enlisted Yon-Rogg to help hand over the info. He double-crosses Nebula while she's accessing the planet's core.

After speaking to Howard the Duck in his casino (who brings Groot and Korg to help fight), Nebula enacts her own plan, allowing Xandar's shield to open long enough for Ronan's ship to pass partway through the threshold only to close again. Both Ronan and Nova Prime are killed for their efforts while Nebula commits to continuing to protect the planet.
2. "What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes?" Returning to Earth, Peter eventually made his way where in an effort to visit his mother's grave?

Answer: Missouri

In 1988 in some version of New York City, a young Peter Quill crash lands and begins to use his otherworldly powers to destroy a planet that he would have, once, called home.

Six months earlier, the Ravagers arrived on Earth to collect Peter and bring him back to Ego. In this universe, however, Yondu never raised Peter himself, instead relinquishing the boy to the Celestial and changing the course of his life. With Peter now by his side, Ego could commence 'The Expansion', a plan to rebuild the universe in his image.

So upon Peter's arrival in New York, the superheroes behind S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Project: Pegasus jumped into action. The fight eventually led to Missouri where Peter, attempting to visit his mother's grave, was convinced to join the others in preventing Ego from destroying the planet. When Ego sent his avatar to Earth to finish the job, Peter was able to use the power of Ego's planet-destroying seed (with Hank Pym's power to get him close) to defeat it. With that, the heroes set out into space, at Thor's suggestion, to face Ego head on.
3. "What If... Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?" Happy Hogan finds himself the recipient of which of these during a battle at the Avengers HQ?

Answer: Bruce Banner's blood

The Watcher takes the time to recount one of his favourite Christmas stories-- this one taking place in an Avengers Tower in one of the universes. During a holiday party in attendance by the Avengers themselves, former Tony Stark foe, Justin Hammer, infiltrates the building in an effort to steal the Avengers' technologies. As Hammer attempts to steal Bruce Banner's blood from the lab, Happy Hogan intervenes and finds himself injected with the sample, transforming him into 'The Freak' and giving him Hulk powers with his own intelligence.

Fortunately, though all seems to be in Hammer's possession (and with everyone else occupied), Happy's transformation allows him to take on not only Hammer (in the Hulkbuster Armor), but Stark's Iron Legion, saving not only the tower, but allowing the party to carry on unabated.
4. "What If... Iron Man Crashed into the Grandmaster?" Who arrives on Sakaar to attempt to kill Tony Stark?

Answer: Gamora

The story of Gamora, as the Watcher explains, actually started in someone else's story. Tony Stark, back in 2012, was able to save New York City (and humanity) from the Chitauri spaceship, launching a missile into space, but in this fracture from the anticipated timeline, Iron Man was pulled into a wormhole, heading through the cosmos only to crash land on the planet Sakaar and into the grip of the Grandmaster.

Tony is forced to stay on Sakaar but his actions lead him to be imprisoned. It couldn't come at a worse time since Gamora, instructed to hunt down Stark on behalf of her father, Thanos, arrives on the planet and gets herself sent to the same oddly-luxe jail cell. Escaping, Stark manages to craft a new Iron Man suit, meet Korg and Valkyrie, and challenge the Grandmaster to a grand prix death race for the monarchy...which he wins even though the Grandmaster cheats.

In the end, while Korg and Valkyrie stay behind, Tony joins Gamora in fighting back against Thanos while the Grandmaster, left to melt into a puddle of goo, remains behind on Sakaar.
5. "What If... Captain Carter Fought the Hydra Stomper?" Who, as it turns out, is responsible for brainwashing Steve Rogers?

Answer: The Black Widows

In an alternate timeline, Captain Carter and Black Widow battled for New York City, grouping up as part of the Avengers, before teaming up and riding up to the top of Stark Tower to face Loki. Though she acted as one of the Guardians of the Multiverse, Peggy Carter's story didn't quite end where she thought it would.

Peggy and Natasha, put on a new mission, located a shipping container onboard the Lemurian Star, opening it to find the Hydra Stomper. To Peggy's shock, this one contained Steve Rogers...but something had changed. After Steve escapes, blowing up the ship on his way out, the pair reunite with Crossbones and Bucky, subduing Steve, bringing him to Scotland, and determining along the way that the Red Room, who trained Natasha, brainwashed Steve and made his body reliant on the suit.

All of this culminates in a battle against the Black Widows and Melina Vostokoff in Sokovia in which Steve goes counter to his reprogramming and sacrifices himself to save Peggy, killing Vostokoff in the process.

In the days to follow, Peggy falls through a portal in the Multiverse, inadvertently finding herself in the Renaissance Era, brought back in time and space by an alternate Nick Fury and Wanda Maximoff.
6. "What If... Kahhori Reshaped the World?" Kahhori is able to harness the power of which of these to bring peace to her planet?

Answer: The Tesseract

In another universe, Surtur destroyed Asgard, killing Odin, and the destruction of this sent the Tesseract somewhere else entirely-- Earth, in the 15th century. There, it lands in what would become known as North America, where a tribe of indigenous Mohawk people regard its landing site as 'The Forbidden Lake'. It becomes the site of problems, not only because locals see it as a gate to 'The Sky World', but because conquistadors seek it out believing it to be the Fountain of Youth.

Kahhori and her brother, Wáhta, evade capture for as long as they can but end up stumbling on the real site, an underground cavern containing a glowing lake. Kahhori is shot and falls into the water there, inadvertently coming into contact with the Tesseract and linking her to her ancestors. Unfortunately for her and the other denizens of this other plane, the conquistadors cross through the portal as well, invading the village.

Kahhori, using the powers of the Sky World, is able to defend her new home while also returning to her old one to slay the leader of the expedition. Further using her powers for peace, she meets with Queen Isabella of Spain, brokering safety for all. This has a second effect, however, as her actions attract the attention of Doctor Strange Supreme who, as it seems, has been looking for her.
7. "What If... Hela Found the Ten Rings?" Hela, cast to Midgar for her insolence, landed in which region?

Answer: China

Odin sought to unite the Nine Realms under the throne of Asgard and, to do this, he used Hela, the Goddess of Death. The branches of the World Tree fell under their control, but Hela sought more. Odin imprisoned Hela in Hell in the Sacred Timeline, but in an alternative branch, Hela's insolence changed things. Odin destroyed Mjolnir and took Hela's power in this changed universe, inadvertently casting her into Ancient China and into the care of Xu Wenwu, bearer of the Ten Rings.

Comparatively powerless, she strived to reclaim her helm and, instead of doing so off the jump, joined the Chinese in learning martial arts, seeking a way to gain her freedom. It was during this time that Odin, ensuring that she wasn't up to trouble, headed to Midgar to surveil her and inadvertently found himself in a battle against the army of Ta Lo.

Odin would fail to beat his daughter and, as such, be forced to hand the throne of Asgard over to her. With this position overseeing the Nine Realms, she would be able to rule not only the worlds there, but the Ten Rings, using both to set the universe on a course for freedom, peace, and liberation. With this, she set off across the galaxy, setting her sights on stopping Thanos.
8. "What If... the Avengers Assembled in 1602?" Who, as Captain Carter discovered, was the Forerunner?

Answer: Steve Rogers

Having tumbled through the Multiverse, Captain Carter arrives in the year 1602 in an alternative universe's Elizabethan Era. There, she attempts to assist the local Avengers, amongst which Thor, Nick Fury, and others are present, as a tear in space and time drags Queen Hera into the sky, removing her from her world. Captain Carter is deemed an enemy despite her attempt to help and, after she escapes King Thor's guards, she's force to run.

It's the Watcher who intervenes to help Captain Carter, informing her (when she claims she can hear his narration) that she can't possibly win in this universe. She refuses to concede, however, reaching out to this universe's Tony Stark for answers that allow her to use Thor's sceptre, and the Time Stone embedded in it, to seek out the Forerunner, who the Watcher claims is responsible for the rips in spacetime.

All of this effort leads Captain Carter to work alongside a band of thieves (most of whom are also Avengers in other worlds) and, eventually, identify the Forerunner as Steve Rogers, who created the incursions when he fought against Thanos during the Infinity War and struck one of the stones on his gauntlet. By having Peggy send him back to finish the fight and prevent the Multiverse from tearing apart, he's able to stop the tears from destroying both worlds.

It's then that Doctor Strange Supreme found Captain Carter.
9. "What If... Strange Supreme Intervened?" As Kahhori reveals, Doctor Strange Supreme is collecting powerful beings and feeding them to which of these?

Answer: The Forge

In London in 1602, Peggy Carter, a warrior out of her own time, was unexpectedly met by Doctor Strange Supreme in a tavern. He couldn't be there more conveniently; she'd been ready to get back to her own time and he could give her passage home. And he did, dropping her off at his own Sanctum Infinitum, to show her what he's been up to, collecting beings of concerning power hellbent on destroying their own universes-- universe-killers. Someone needed to do it, he said, since the Watcher wouldn't intervene. Strange considers it his penance.

The problem is that one of them has escaped, he said, somewhere in the South Dakotan badlands. Peggy agreed to help, even though there seemed to be something dubious at play.

The Watcher approached Peggy upon her arrival, explaining that in this universe, the bomb at Project Rebirth was too strong to be stopped. HYDRA unleashed the Tesseract's power and destroyed the world. He warned her to be careful before disappearing.

It didn't take long for Peggy to find her target, revealing herself to be Kahhori, who accuses Strange of being the actual universe-killer. Unfortunately, it all proved to be a trap. Strange has been gathering all heroes-- good or bad-- and feeding them to a device called 'The Forge', which would allow him to destroy other universes to resurrect his own and save Christine.

Peggy decided to side with Kahhori, temporarily stopping Strange long enough to let the pair of them escape and to free the universe-killers in his collection. All they would need to do to save themselves, and the Multiverse, is destroy the Forge.
10. The Watcher reveals that in order to save the Multiverse, who needed to intervene?

Answer: Peggy

Peggy and Kahhori encountered a number of extremely powerful beings who effectively caused an intergalactic prison riot, even stumbling upon the zombie Wanda Maximoff and her undead horde. They would be brought to their knees by Hela who, in turn, was met in battle by Surtur. They would subsequently cross paths with Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet before coming face-to-face with Killmonger, also decked out in armor powered by the Infinity Stones. Fortunately, Kahhori used her powers to separate the foe from his outfit, giving them what they needed to fight back.

Emerging into the the room atop the Forge, Peggy and Kahhori encountered Strange Supreme one last time, dividing and conquering to keep the mystical foe at bay while striking the device. In a pivotal moment, while Strange materialized copies of himself from across the Multiverse, Peggy did the same, replicating herself to fight as an army.

As Strange attempted to feed the prisoners to the Forge, Kahhori and Peggy. started to teleport them back through his portals. With their last efforts, the prisoners tossed their weapons-- everything from Mjolnir to the Ten Rings-- to Peggy, allowing her to keep Strange at bay and Kahhori to send everyone home. With this arsenal, Strange was powerless to fight back, allowing his demonic inner self to break free. With Peggy in possession of the Stones and with an appeal to the last of his humanity, Strange cast himself into the Forge, attempting to abate his overwhelming grief and end the fight.

The Watcher awakened Peggy from his observatory in the multiverse, informing her that he returned Kahhori to her home universe. He revealed to her that Strange was able to recreate his universe, all said and done, saving Christine by fighting his demons, but he would never be born into it.

As the Watcher explained, the multiverse didn't need him to intervene, but it did need Peggy to do so. Before he took her to her home Universe, he would show her more, revealing to her the tree at the end of time.
