Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Darunia
Answer: Goron
Darunia is the Chief of the Gorons in "Ocarina of Time' (N64). As leader of the Gorons, he was awakened as the Sage of Fire once Link defeated Volvagia in the Fire Temple as an adult. Presumably, this meant his son Link succeeded him as Goron Chief.
Gorons are mountainous people primarily known for their strength and diet of rocks. Strangely, there do not appear to be female Gorons as every Goron is referred to as male. There are Gorons in the female-only access Gerudo Town in a few games but it appears those Gorons were mistaken for female or perhaps the Gorons are a gender-neutral race.
2. Daruk
Answer: Goron
Daruk is the Goron Champion first seen in "Breath of the Wild" (Wii U). He was the pilot of Divine Beast Vah Rudania before Calamity Ganon turned the divine beasts against their pilots, killing them. Although his spirit is awakened once Link defeats Fireblight Ganon, Daruk's life is not returned.
3. Yunobo
Answer: Goron
Yunobo is Daruk's grandson who first appeared in "Breath of the Wild". In that game, he is an unsteady and timid youth but by the time of "Tears of the Kingdom", Yunobo has grown up to become very powerful but physically and influentially. He is the President of YunoboCo and is awakened as the new Sage of Fire to fight Demon King Ganondorf and continue on the legacy of his ancestors who were also Sages of Fire.
4. Gorko
Answer: Goron
Gorko is a Goron who appeared in "Skyward Sword" (Wii U). He is an archeologist who is exploring the origins of the Isle of the Goddess. He provides Link with knowledge of the Surface World's geography and myths.
5. Darbus
Answer: Goron
Darbus is the patriarch of the Gorons in "Twilight Princess" (Wii). He is presumably a descendent of Darunia. As the patriarch, Darbus entered the Goron Mines to investigate the fused shadow that appeared. Despite his strength, the fused shadow overpowered him and turned him into Fyrus, that temple's boss who was responsible for causing volcanic eruption in the area.
6. Mipha
Answer: Zora
Mipha is the Zora Champion in "Breath of the Wild". As Zora Champion, she was the pilot of Divine Beast Vah Ruta until the divine beast turned on her and killed her. She was also Princess of the Zora, daughter of King Dorephan and brother of Prince Sidon. Prior to her death, she fell in love with Link which caused the Zoras to start a feud with Link because they disapproved of the potential relationship and Link failed to save Mipha.
Zoras are fish-people separated into two clans. The Sea Zora are blueish in color and are generally friendly to Link. They appear much more often than the River Zora who tend to be green and unfriendly. Mipha is a Sea Zora.
7. Sidon
Answer: Zora
Sidon is the Zora Prince first seen in "Breath of the Wild". He is the brother of Mipha and the son of King Dorephan. By the time of "Tears of the Kingdom", Sidon has married Yona and appears to be on the cusp of ascending to the throne due to his father's potential abdication. Sidon awakens as the Sage of Water to fight alongside Link against Demon King Ganondorf.
Initially hostile to Link, Sidon and Link become best buddies.
8. Oren
Answer: Zora
Oren is Queen of the River Zoras in "A Link Between Worlds" (3DS). Although she is kind to Link, her people are not and sometimes attack him when he travels near Zora's Domain. She is a descendant of the Sage of Water and was kidnapped by Yuga in an attempt to revive Ganon. She awakens as the new Sage of Water once Link rescues her from the Swamp Palace.
9. Princess Ruto
Answer: Zora
Princess Ruto is princess of the Zoras in "Ocarina of Time". As the daughter of King Zora, she holds the Zora Sapphire which Link needs to enter the Temple of Time. She gives it to him only if he promises her his hand in marriage. As an adult, Ruto learns she is the Sage of the Water Temple and calls off their engagement but not before scolding him for abandoning her for seven years.
Although she does not appear, Ruto is referenced in many other game, most notably "Breath of the Wild' where monuments detail Ruto's sacrifice.
10. Prince Ralis
Answer: Zora
Prince Ralis is Prince of the Zora in "Twilight Princess". He is very young and timid and was attacked when he went to Hyrule Castle to inform Zelda Zora's Domain froze over. In the interim, his mother the Queen Rutela was murdered. Because his father is also dead, Ralis becomes King, something he is reluctant to do and unsure how to lead his people.
11. Ganondorf
Answer: Gerudo
Ganondorf is a Gerudo. He is the very rare male Gerudo in this female-dominated race. One male is born every 100 years and the male is destined to become their leader. However, Ganondorf proved to be evil and sought power for his own gain. In "Ocarina of Time", most Gerudo worship him but in future games, they despise him as much as the other races do. Ganondorf is one of the main recurring antagonists in the series and is largely believed to be the source of evil in Hyrule throughout generations.
The Gerudo are primarily desert-dwelling people who are mostly female. They are skilled warriors and thieves. They do not like men and will forbid men from entering their town. Even Link is forbidden to visit in "Breath of the Wild" after he saves them. In order to mate, Gerudo women leave their city in search of, often unsuspecting, men.

13. Riju
Answer: Gerudo
Riju is the new Chief of the Gerudo in both "Breath of the Wild" and "Tears of the Kingdom". She is the daughter of Urbosa and succeeded her mother as chief. In "Tears of the Kingdom", she is the Sage of Lightning and vows to fight against Demon King Ganondord. However, her skills are not perfect despite her vow to strengthen the Gerudo army.
14. Nabooru
Answer: Gerudo
Nabooru appeared in "Ocarina of Time". She is considered the most skilled thief amongst the Gerudos, although she was outcasted for opposition to Ganondorf. She awakens as the Sage of Spirit. She was captured and brainwashed by Ganondorf's foster mothers Koume and Kotake but was saved when Link defeated them.
15. Seera
Answer: Gerudo
Seera is the Gerudo Chief in "Echoes of Wisdom" (Switch). Like Gerudo from their original appearance, Seera is hostile to outsiders, especially Hylians. Saria appeared in "Ocarina of Time" and is a Kokiri. She was Link's closest childhood friend. As a Kokiri, she lived in the Kokiri Forest under the protection of the Great Deku Tree. Impa is a Sheikah, a race of people who look like Hylians but have white hair and red eyes. The Sheikah live in Kakariko Village and are the protectors of the Hylian Royal Family. For many games, Impa was the only Sheikah until "Twilight Princess" introduced Impaz.
A full Sheikha community was finally introduced in "Breath of the Wild." Impa is a personal guardian to Princess Zelda. She is, in many games, Zelda's nanny and caretaker and is generally depicted as elderly. However, in some games she is considerably younger.
