In order to get the Kokiri Emerald from the Great Deku Tree, Link needs to defeat the ugly arachnid in the depths of the Deku Tree. In order to do this, Link needs to retrieve the Fairy Slingshot from the upper part of the tree, then he needs to head into the deeper parts of the dungeon. During the battle, Gohma likes to hang around on the ceiling, so shoot her red eye with a slingshot pellet and she'll fall to the ground. If you don't do this in time, she'll create three little arachnids you'll need to fight.

After you slice her eye enough, she'll die, and you'll be finished your first dungeon.

Answer: Quill

Link will first see Quill when he looks into Aryll's telescope for the first time. Quill will give Link a bit of helpful advice throughout the game, and he will also get Link out of a tight bind at some points. Quill is also the Rito who tells Link the location of Jabun who is hiding at Outset Island.

Although it's only found in a few levels, the Quake Medallion is extremely useful. If it's used, it will wipe out all of the enemies on one screen. This will allow you to get past large groups of enemies with relative ease. The Quake Medallion can also be found in "Link to the Past" where it's used to open the Turtle Rock dungeon.

Ukuku Prairie is found to the east of Mabe Village and it can be accessed as soon as you get a hold of the Power Bracelet in the second dungeon, the Bottle Grotto which is found in the Goponga Swamp just north of the Mysterious Forest. Ukuku Prairie is also home to Kanalet Castle where you must find Richard's five golden leaves.

These are used to gain access to the area containing the key to the Key Cavern, the third dungeon of the game, where you will obtain the Pegasus Boots.

Ulrira lives in a house in the south-west corner of Mabe Village and you can contact him all around the island. If you're stuck, you can call him and he'll give you a hint for what you must do next. If you talk to him in his house, he'll be a bit shy and he'll tell you to call him from outside.

Although Vaati is the wind sorcerer who was unleashed when Link pulled the Four Sword out of its pedestal, the one behind everything was Ganon who you fight at the end of the last level. When you fight Vaati, you'll need to use a combination of weapons and your surroundings to take out the foe. Vaati's headquarters are in the Palace of the Winds where he has hidden the kidnapped Princess Zelda.

Veran is the evil sorceress from "Oracle of Ages" (GBC) who possesses the oracle of ages, Nayru. Veran is able to harness her powers and go back and forth through time. Veran also uses Queen Ambi's strength and power to build the Black Tower over the sea and reign supreme. Luckily, with the Harp of Ages, you'll be able to go back and forth through time to get the Essences of Time and stop Veran once and for all!

For a price of only twenty rupees, Vasu will be the one who helps you by appraising magical rings on your quests. He will also be the one to give you your first ring box, and he can be found in Holodrum City (in "Oracle of Seasons") or Lynna Village/City (in "Oracle of Seasons"). If Vasu appraises a ring you already have, he'll buy it off you for thirty rupees. That gives you a ten rupee profit! :)

Answer: Dragon Roost Island

Valoo is the large dragon that roosts on the top of Dragon Roost Island (giving the island its name). Its large hook-like tail swings in the boss chamber below him, and using this, you can grapple over the boss and damage it with a large stone slab stuck to the ceiling. After this, Valoo will also help you at the Forsaken Fortress by setting Ganon's room on fire.

Answer: Volvagia

Yet another dragon to talk about. Although Valoo is friendly, Volvagia isn't. During this battle, Volvagia the fire dragon will either be flying around the arena or she'll be popping out of lava-filled holes in the ground. By using the Megaton Hammer, you can make this dragon turn to dust, and you'll save many Gorons from being eaten. You'll also get the Fire Medallion from Darunia in the Temple of Light.
