Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The phrase "it's a secret to everybody" originated in the first "Zelda" game for NES and was spoken by the friendly Moblin found in hidden caves. But what exactly was the secret unbeknownst to (almost) everybody?

Answer: The Moblin gives out rupees

Moblins are usually enemies in the "Zelda" series, so when Link comes across the friendly one who gives out rupees, it seems a little suspicious. The Moblins desire to keep secret seemingly implies that he is rebelling his fellow Moblins to assist Link rather than kill him.
2. Where in "A Link to the Past" (SNES) can Link find a house with a portrait of Mario that gives rupees when pulled?

Answer: Kakariko Village

This isn't the only time Mario appears as an Easter egg in the "Zelda" games. Mario, as well as other characters from that franchise, appear in the windows of Hyrule Castle in "Ocarina of Time" (N64) and a Chain Chomp is used several times in "Link's Awakening." (Game Boy)
3. What is the reward for completing the optional Color Dungeon in "Link's Awakening DX" for the Game Boy Color?

Answer: New tunics for Link

In order to enter the dungeon, Link must use the Pegasus boots to knock off a book from the top shelf in the library in Mabe Village. That book will give him directions on the correct order to pull the headstones in the graveyard that will reveal the Color Dungeon. If he completes the dungeon, Link can exchange his green tunic for a red or blue one.

The red tunic increases attack and the blue defense.
4. Probably the most frustrating temple in all of the "Zelda" games is the Water Temple from "Ocarina of Time" for the N64. The constant need to flood and drain the temple has caused consternation for players for years. However, one strategy that a player can use to make the temple easier is to utilize which item to create a warp hole to facilitate travel in the dungeon?

Answer: Farore's Wind

Farore's Wind can be used to make a warp portal next to the flood switches so Link does not have to maneuver around the Water Temple a half dozen times. Farore's Wind is popular with speed runners to achieve faster completion times.
5. In "Majora's Mask" for the N64, Link can easily win the lottery drawing in Clock Town by doing what?

Answer: Time traveling

Link can enter the Lottery Shop, buy a ticket and lose. If he records the numbers that come up, he can use the Song of Time to travel back and buy a ticket for the same drawing and select the winning numbers.
6. Agitha, the bug girl from "Twilight Princess" (Wii) will initially call Link "Grasshopper" in a clear reference to which character from "Majora's Mask" that first gave Link that nickname?

Answer: Romani

Romani gives Link that name because he wears green and hops around a lot. Romani looks very similar in appearance to her Hylian counterpart, Malon. Both Romani and Malon run ranches in the game and have implied romantic relationships with Link.

In "Twilight Princess," Link can collect bugs and trade them to Agitha in exchange for rupees and wallet upgrades.
7. There are several secret stations scattered over Hyrule in "Spirit Tracks" for the DS. What task does one need to complete in order to unlock the tracks that lead to Ends of the Earth Station in the Fire Realm?

Answer: Deliver cuccos to Rael

The inside of Ends of the Earth Station is similar to the Sand Temple, which is appropriate since Rael is the Guardian of the Sand Realm. If Link completes the block puzzles, he will be rewarded with a piece of heart.
8. In "Skyward Sword," if one were to closely examine the walls, buildings and various other places in Link's hometown of Skyloft, he or she would find numerous references to the number 25. Why is this?

Answer: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise

February 11th 2011 was the exact 25th anniversary of the series. In celebration, Nintendo released several game bundles including a golden Wii remote with the purchase of "Skyword Sword." Also, a book called "Hyrule Historia" was published which detailed the history of Hyrule throughout the games.
9. The final secret of the quiz can be found in the Hero's Quest of "A Link Between Worlds" for the 3DS. If Link were to visit his house in Lorule, he will find it empty except for a treasure chest and which character's journal that provides some interesting, although unnecessary, background information?

Answer: Ravio's

Ravio is Link's Lorule counterpart and assistant to Lorule Princess Hilda. Ravio explains in his journal that he believes Princess Hilda is being manipulated and that he must escape to Hyrule to save both worlds.
10. Which legendary comedian was so fond of the "Zelda" series that he named his daughter after the title princess?

Answer: Robin Williams

Both Robin and Zelda Williams had appeared in multiple commercials for the game. After the actor's untimely death in 2014, fans started a petition to ask Nintendo to include a character in a future game named Robin. The petition was signed 77,000 times within twenty-four hours of its debut.
