1. What colors do you need to make the flag of the United Kingdom?

Answer: red, white, blue

I hope you got that one right!
2. Now that you're warmed up, the questions will get harder! If you are making the flag of Lithuania, what should you do?

Answer: make horizontal stripes of yellow, green, and red

The flag of Lithuania was first established on November 11, 1918. However, under the Soviet rule, it was not used, and it was re-adopted on March 20, 1989. The yellow stripe stands for the sun, the green is for vegetation, and the red is for the land and blood. The proportions of the flag are 1:2.
3. If someone left you materials to make a flag with a circle in it, with the colors of red, white, and blue, but did not leave directions, which of these flags could you make?

Answer: Laos

The flag of Laos has two horizontal red stripes on the top and bottom, separated by a blue stripe. A white circle stands in the center of the thick blue stripe. It was adopted on December 2, 1975, and has proportions of 2:3. The red stripes symbolize bloodshed in a war, the blue represents the wealth of the country, while the white circle stands for the unity of the nation.
4. Which flag would you have a hard time making because it has completely different front and back sides?

Answer: Paraguay

The front of Paraguay's flag consists of three horizontal stripes of red, white, and blue. The state seal is represented in the center of the middle white stripe. On the back, the treasury seal is shown on a white background. The flag has been in use since November 25, 1842, with proportions of 1:2.
5. Which flag would you be creating with stripes of yellow and black, with green and blue triangles on the corners?

Answer: Tanzania

Tanzania's flag was adopted on June 30, 1964. The black stripe stands for the people, the two yellow stripes represent mineral wealth, the green triangle symbolizes the land, and the blue triangle stands for the sea. The proportions are 2:3.
6. If you were told to make a flag with three unmarked horizontal stripes of red, white, and blue, to which two countries could the flag belong?

Answer: the Netherlands and Luxembourg

Although the flags of these two countries look the same at first glance, the blue stripe in Luxembourg's flag is slightly lighter than that of the Netherlands. Also, the proportions of the Netherlands' flag are 2:3, while Luxembourg's are 3:5. Even though these two countries are very close to each other in location, their flags do not have the same roots.

The Dutch introduced this design on February 14, 1796. The similar arrangement was irrelevantly attained on June 12, 1845.
7. If you had enough material to make every flag in the world, what color of material would you have the most of?

Answer: red

About 2/3 of the world's flags contain some amount of the color red.
8. You have just created a flag with a black triangle on the left, and three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and blue. To what country does this flag belong?

Answer: the Bahamas

The Bahamian flag was first in use on July 10, 1973. The black triangle represents the vigor and force of the united population of this island nation. The blue stripes surrounding the yellow stripe symbolize the blue sea surrounding the Bahamas' golden beaches. The proportions are 1:2.
9. If you used big stickers as your material that you could rearrange in different combinations, which two flags could you design with the same stickers?

Answer: Ireland and Ivory Coast

Both the flags of Ireland and the Ivory Coast are based on the French tricolor. The Irish flag consists of vertical stripes of green, white, and orange, while Ivory Coast's flag has vertical stripes of orange, white, and green. The French tricolore has vertical stripes of blue, white, and red.
10. Between 1977 and 2011, for what country's flag would you need just one color?

Answer: Libya

This Libyan flag consisted only of a green rectangle, in the proportions 1:2. It was introduced in 1977 and was in use until 2011, when the regime was overthrown and the previous flag re-introduced.
