Answer: Bald eagle

The bald eagle can live up to fifty years in captivity and on average of twenty-five years in the wild. An adult's wing span can measure up to eight feet wide and stands around three feet high. The bald eagle build nests in trees near coast lands and rivers, mates for life and breed once a year during a season that is determined by their region. 7. Native only to the United States and found in the southern region between Virginia and Florida and west to Texas, this tree is highly recognizable for its sweeping branches that twist into a gnarl of limbs that, when spread out, can measure as wide as up to 80 feet. What is the name of this tree that is often covered in Spanish moss, giving it a gauzy, almost ghostly look?

Answer: Southern Live Oak

The Southern Live Oak grows to maturity quickly, then it slows as it expands. It's believed that, left untouched, these sprawling trees can live to a thousand years old and upward. While they cannot survive in cold weather, the Southern Live Oak thrives in shade and salty earth.

Because of its density, Southern Live Oak was used to construct the 21" thick hull of the US Navy frigate USS Constitution, built in 1797, which was given the nickname "Old Ironside" due to its impervious body. More than 200 years later, the USS Constitution is the world's oldest commissioned warship that still sails under its own power -- some thanks due to the strength and durability of the Southern Live Oak. Submitted by kapulani3.
