Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening credits of all the seasons, what do the "Chewin the Fat" guys fall out of?

Answer: Plane

The guys first start off playing in a casino and then they notice the time and try to get home to watch something. They run and notice a plane. They jump off the plane and notice some buffalo running underneath them and a harbour. They then get on some kind of water skis and run up stairs to get home in time.
2. Where about in Scotland is it set?

Answer: Glasgow

Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland and the Chewin the Fat lads are proud to come from Glasgow.
3. In episode 1 the first scene is the "Nifty Fit" advert. The guys are called Dave, Mick, Joe and what?

Answer: Moe

The guy playing Moe (Ronald Viliers who is played by Ford Kiernan) keeps messing everything he does. First he says his name is Dave and the he sings "my guys called Moe". After that they try something else and they have to sing "Tires, Breaks, Exhaust Pipes too, who fits the quickest? We Do!" and they Moe has to Nifty Fit but he says "Fin Finty Tin".

The director goes mad and tells them to do it again and after they do that he has to bounce the tire of the floor and read the name properly only this time he bounces it too hard and it smacks the camera guy in the face! Pure class.
4. Who plays the "Invisible Boss"?

Answer: Ford Kiernan

Everyone pretends not to see the "Invisible Boss". He does things which really annoy the workers. For example he trips over someone while they have their lunch on the tray. The tripped up guy say "I seemed to have tripped there must be a loose tile".
5. Who plays the Shopkeeper?

Answer: Karen Dunbar

She is a lonely shopkeeper always looking for a friend. As she says "Stuck in this shop, day after day." She once phoned a person because she saw their number on a "How was my driving" sticker. She told them how good their driving was and then asked them if they wanted to come over for a cup of tea. The person hung up the phone afterwards.
6. What is the name of the OAP?

Answer: Betty

She is one good laugh. At the very beginning of "Chewin The Fat" she was interviewed by heaps of reporters about the war. Her memories were about the war but nothing about the fighting but something. You have to watch to see what I am mean.
7. What does Jack buy over the internet which is not allowed in the country?

Answer: Tazer

Jack and Victor the old men are so funny! They have even had their own television series called "Still Game".
8. What is the famous catchphrase first used by the Lighthouse Keepers?

Answer: "Gonnae Nae Dae That"

That question was kind of hard unless you have watched "Chewin The Fat" before. This is a great catchphrase to say to one of your mates if they are annoying you. "Gonnae Nae Dae That!" "How?" "Just Gonnae Nae!"
9. What is the week in the NYPD cop exchange programme?

Answer: 3

This is a good laugh. It's in episode 2. I can't remember what the first cop says but the second cop who is the Scottish says:
"I'll take a roll and square sausage, hud the broon sauce, cup of tea milk and two sugars and a chocolate snowball'" in a broad Scottish accent. Roll and square sausage is a squared shaped sausage in a bun and broon sauce is brown sauce.
10. What is in the bread bin which the old lady takes in to the charity shop?

Answer: old teabags

This is so funny. The old lady says."Why throw out your old teabags when you can pop them in an old bread bin and the wee babies can use them as weights to develop their wee muscles". She also brings in a steak pie crust and tights with a ball and cup attached to them.
11. Does the young painter buy a cream shirt?

Answer: Yes

The older painter gets him to get chips, paper and a cup of tea and something for himself. He gives the young guy a £20 and only gets £1.20 change! The young guy buys himself a shirt.
12. How old is the cinema guy that refuses to sell tickets to a girl and her mum to an 18 film?

Answer: 24

The Big Man sorts him out and gets them tickets when he threatens to do something nasty to him. He sells the girls the tickets. When the Big Man asks for two tickets for himself, the cinema guy says they are all sold out because he sold the last two to the girls.
13. Victor the old guy is reading "cowboys and indians" book while Jack reads a "war" book.

Answer: False

It's the other way round!
14. Where is the first place the Night Shift workers go to say "Oy we're on the night shift" because they are too loud?

Answer: Hampden

They go to Hampden, then an office meeting because of the little noises such as clicking of the pen, a boy who is making a crisp sandwich and then finally a science lab where they are looking in a microscope.
15. What was the name of Jack's cat which had been stuck in the freezer for many years?

Answer: Ginger

Jack and Victor are cleaning out Jack's freezer. They find things such as Jean's old soup. When Jack says "oh ginger" Victor thinks it's bottled ginger and says "You're nae (not) supposed to put bottles of ginger in the freezer." Jack replies "Nae (not) that kind of ginger Ginger". And out comes a frozen cat. Jack thought it had run away. Jack wants to keep it but Victor wants to chuck it away.

They grab the cat and pull it to their own side and the cat breaks in half. Pure comedy.
