The name was later changed to "The Fabulous Pack" , just before they became Grand Funk Railroad." Flint" actually was a name Mel and Don used later on in their career. They were all from Flint Area in Michigan.

They split, they sued each other, Grand Funk won and got richer. Terry Knight was a stage name. His birth name was Richard Terrence Knapp.
