Answer: The Great Lakes

Lake Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario make up the five Great Lakes that form the border of Canada and the United States from Ontario. The lakes connect together for one long sea road. Lake Ontario is the farthest to the east, and links to the St. Lawrence River which goes on to the Atlantic Ocean. The Welland Canal (for ships) and Niagara River (with the Niagara Falls) link to Lake Erie, which then connects back north to Lake Huron through Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River. From the top end of Lake Huron, you can go straight into Lake Michigan or north to Lake Superior.

How many of you know someone with the surname Biv? There are plenty of mnemonics for numbers of pi, such as 'How I like a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics' - which gives you pi to 15 decimal places if you count the letters in each word. (3.14159265358979) and for the planets of the solar system (My Very Educated Mother Just Sent Us Nine Pizzas - which would have worked before they demoted poor Pluto), but I have never seen a snappy mnemonic for Shakespeare's plays.

As Pluto meets neither of these requirements, it no longer qualifies as a planet.

I wonder if the person who created Roy G. Biv knew that 'biv' is the Hebrew word for sewer pipe?
