From Quiz I'm in "The Great Race"!
Answer:
Tony Curtis
Tony Curtis' acting career lasted for six decades, and he participated in almost every genre of film. His first (uncredited) role was as a rumba dancer in 1949's "Criss Cross", where he danced a single dance with the film's female lead, Yvonne De Carlo. At that time he was going by the name of James Curtis, although later that year, in his second film "City Across the River", he used the name Anthony Curtis. His portrayal of Sidney Falco in 1957's "Sweet Smell of Success" earned him critical and public acclaim. The next year, his portrayal of John "Joker" Jackson in "The Defiant Ones" brought him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor (his co-star, Sidney Poitier, was also nominated). Although he never won an Oscar, he did receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Curtis' hundred-plus films include 1953's "Houdini", 1959's "Some Like It Hot", 1960's "Spartacus" and 1968's "The Boston Strangler". And, in 1992, Tony Curtis starred in a remake of "Christmas in Connecticut" which was directed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
