Los Angeles native Juliette Lewis was nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Danielle Bowden in the 1991 remake of "Cape Fear".
Robert Mitchum led the cast in the original 1962 version of the film. The movie depicted the ordeal of a lawyer's family that was stalked by a convict the attorney was responsible for prosecuting.

John Randolph was named Emanuel Hirsch Cohen at birth. He made his 1938 Broadway debut in "Coriolanus" and served in the Air Force in WWII. He returned to a career as an actor but became blacklisted in the mid-fifties for refusing to answer questions before the House Committee on Un-American Activities. In 1966 director John Frankenheimer cast him in the lead role for the movie, "Seconds". He was later cast as Nicholson's dad in "Prizzi's Honor".
He returned to Broadway in the seventies and eighties and was cast in several plays. He received a 1987 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor for his performance in "Broadway Bound". He also made several television guest appearances before passing in 2004.
Nicholson starred in the 1990 film, "The Two Jakes". "Terms of Endearment" was a 1983 release and "Reds" was released in 1981.

Ladd was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her work in the 1991 film, "Rambling Rose". When her daughter, Laura Dern, was nominated for Best Actress in "Rambling Rose" it was the first time a mother/daughter team received award nominations for the same film. They both received Golden Globe nominations for "Rambling Rose" as well. Ladd married actor Bruce Dern in 1960 and they divorced in 1969.

Marshall was born Everett Eugene Grunz in Owatonna, Minnesota. One of his earliest big screen roles was prosecutor Lieutenant Commander Challee in the 1954 film, "Caine Mutiny". One of Randy Quaid's first feature film roles was in "The Last Picture Show" in 1971. Two years later he was cast with Jack Nicholson and Otis Young in "The Last Detail" as a sailor being escorted to the brig. Quaid received a nomination for a Golden Globe, an Academy Award and a BAFTA for his role.

In 1983 he was cast as cousin Eddie in the first "Vacation" movie, a role he portrayed in two subsequent "Vacation" films. He won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of President Lyndon Johnson in "LBJ: The Early Years" (1986). "Carnal Knowledge" was released in 1971 and earned Nicholson a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.

Bronx native Mae Questal was one of Fanny Brice's mom's friends in "Funny Girl". The group of women enjoyed playing cards. She went on to appear in "Zelig" (1983) and the 1989 anthology film, "New York Stories".
Mae Questel also voiced the Betty Boop character in approximately 150 cartoons beginning in 1931. In the mid-thirties she also began voicing Popeye's girlfriend, Olive Oyl. At various times she also did the voices for Felix the Cat, Little Lulu, Little Audrey and Minnie Mouse.
In 1988 Questel reprised the voice-over of Betty Boop in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". She also became known as Aunt Bluebell in Scott Towel commercials.

Sean Young played opposite Michael Douglas in "Wall Street" (1987). Douglas and Kathleen Turner starred in "The War of the Roses" the same year that "Christmas Vacation" was released. "Basic Instinct" was released in 1992.

Brooklyn native William Edward Hickey played Don Corrado Prizzi in the 1985 film, "Prizzi's Honor". He was only in his early sixties when he played the cigar smoking Uncle Lewis on "Christmas Vacation". He was only 69 when he passed away in 1997. His final role was as a sheriff in "Knocking on Death's Door". The movie was released two years after he passed away.
In 1986 Hickey played Ubertino da Casale in "The Name of the Rose". The same year he was Old Man Beckersted in "One Crazy Summer". In the 1987 film, "A Hobo's Christmas", Hickey played a character named Cincinnati Harold.

Johnny Galecki was born in Belgium of American parents. In 1988 he was cast as Toby Reardon in "A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon". In 1989 he had a small role in "Prancer" alongside Sam Elliott and Cloris Leachman and was cast in "Christmas Vacation".
