Buck Henry played the part of the angelic escort trying to save Rams quarterback Joe Pendleton from a painful death in the 1978 movie "Heaven Can Wait". James Mason also starred as Mr. Jordan. Warren Beatty was Joe in a cast that included Julie Christie, Jack Warden, Charles Grodin, and Dyan Cannon. Henry's most recognized work was probably the television series "Get Smart", in which he shared the writing and creator credits with Mel Brooks. He has screenplay writing credits for several well known movies including "The Graduate" and "Catch-22", in each of which he also makes an appearance on screen. He has been a frequent host of "Saturday Night Live", the first time in the tenth episode of the first season, January 17th, 1976. 7. This dialogue came from what 1991 movie about the afterlife? Comedian: Well, there's a nice looking man over there. Hi, how'd ya die? Daniel Miller: On stage, like you.

From Quiz Crossing Over

Answer: Defending Your Life

"Defending Your Life" is an Albert Brooks film starring Brooks as Daniel Miller and also featuring Meryl Streep, Rip Torn, and Buck Henry. In this film the recently deceased attend a familiar looking court and are given the task of proving their courage in life, in order to determine if they will move on or be sent back for another reincarnation. This exchange takes place in a Judgment City nightclub. Daniel jokes that he cannot leave early because the comedian is his father. Interestingly, Albert Brook's father, Harry Parke, was a comedian who literally died on stage at the Friar's Club. With a theme that involves reincarnation, it is no surprise to see a guest appearance by Shirley MacLaine as herself. Who else would you expect to run into at The Past Lives Pavilion?
