Jennifer, Eddie, Melissa, and Blackburn are not the people Steven invited, so therefore he gives them a challenge: Anyone who suvives the night in the asylum will receive one million dollars. The guests don't believe the house is haunted, but their minds abruptly change when one guest goes missing. The night becomes terrifying as more and more people are mysteriously killed by someone...or something.
5. Arthur Kriticos is a widower who is stuggling to raise his daughter, Kathy, and his son, Bobby, on his own. After his Uncle Cyrus dies, Arthur inherits Cyrus's huge house. When Arthur, Kathy, Bobby, and their nanny, Maggie, go to look at the house, they are soon trapped inside with a psychic named Dennis Rafkin. Rafkin turns out to be a friend of Cryus's and knows what's downstairs in the house's basement: a group of dangerous ghosts. When Kathy and Bobby mysteriously disappear, Arthur has to find a way to rescue his children.
6. The ghost of Matilda Dixon haunts a town. If someone looks at her hideously burned face, she kills them. She has targeted Michael Green, a little boy who can't sleep because of his fear of her. His elder sister, Caitlin, contacts an old friend named Kyle Walsh. Kyle's mother was killed by Matilda, and Kyle managed to escape Matilda by staying in any kind of light, which repels the murderous ghost. Kyle is reluctant to help Michael because of his own history with the ghost, but soon must save Michael, Caitlin, and the other residents of the town when a blackout occurs.
7. After winning an achievement award, a child psychologist by the name of Malcolm Crowe is shot by an old patient of his. Two years later, Dr. Crowe meets Cole Sear, a traumatized little boy with a terrible secret: he sees dead people. Dr. Crowe must do what he can to help Cole, while trying to save his own failing marriage.

Nell falls in love with the house, but soon discovers a dark secret: the house is haunted by spirits of children who are being held captive in the house by the ghost of a man named Hugh Crain.
