Gunther had always been jealous of Ross and was the one that told Rachel that Ross had slept with Chloe. I felt a bit sorry for Gunther because he could never get Rachel and despite the fact that Ross broke her heart, Rachel's heart still belonged to him. Joey developed a crush on Rachel as well in season 10, and Rachel found herself attracted to Joey too. They kissed a few times but it never went farther than that. Joey and Rachel realized they were better as friends and decided to end their short lived relationship. Rachel's heart always belonged to Ross even after they broke up and until their reunion in the finale.

These jokes included asking if Elizabeth could sell them Girl Scout cookies early this year, and saying that they were looking forward to her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Eventually, Ross took the comments a little more seriously and started to wonder if there could possibly be a future with Elizabeth. He decided no, and broke up with her. She threw a water balloon at him. Elizabeth was played by Alexandra Holden.

She sat down on the couch and cried and when she stood back up, she saw Ross standing at the doors. Rachel smiled as she approached the doors, unlocked them, opened them and stood there staring at Ross. Ross started back at her in the pouring rain as he suddenly pulled her into a kiss. It was incredible and beautiful.

In the end, their relationship didn't work out when Pete set his eyes on becoming the Ultimate Fighting Champion and Monica couldn't stand to see him getting hurt in the competition.

In the same episode, we found out that Chandler calling her fat behind her back that day was what led Monica to lose a lot of weight. Chandler and Monica first slept together in London at the end of season four, began dating in season five (secretly, at first) and married in the final episode of season seven.

Rachel had been working at her new job at Bloomingdale's. Ross was jealous of Rachel's boss, Mark. Rachel knew this but told Ross he had nothing to worry about but never actually proved to him that Mark was a nice guy. Mark had a reputation of going out with the women he worked with and Ross's insecurities stemmed from what happened with his relationship with Carol. It's not that he didn't trust Rachel, it's that he didn't trust Mark. Also the fact that Rachel was working so much and he hardly saw her anymore and was tired of talking to her answering machine. Ross wanted to celebrate their anniversary but Rachel wanted to stay and work. This angered Ross and he and Rachel had their first real fight. This was when Rachel said she wanted a break from them and Ross took this to mean that they were broken up. He was clearly deeply upset and saddened by this so he went out and started drinking at a club. He was missing Rachel terribly so he decided to call her up but when he does, he hears Mark in the background and assumes the worst. Rachel tries to cover up the fact that Mark is there but to no avail. Ross is angry, slams the phone down and drinks some more. Chloe, the girl from the copy place hits on him and in his inebriated and vulnerable state he sleeps with her. A decision he immediately regrets. Rachel comes by the next morning to get back together with him and he wants to get back together with her but things don't always go as planned. I have only been able to watch the breakup scene once because it's just too heartbreaking and devastating. I always avoid it whenever I watch because it affects me that much. That breakup is what kept two people that belong together apart for so long.

Charlie was with Joey when the gang went to Barbados but realized during the trip that she and Joey were too different and didn't really belong together. Charlie then got together with Ross (and Joey with Rachel, for a brief time), but their relationship ended when Charlie's ex came on the scene and wanted her back.
