"Friends" - How Did They Meet? (Pt 2) Quiz

Answer: She was a student in one of his classes.

In "TOW Ross Dates a Student", Ross received an anonymous evaluation from one of his students who called him a "hottie". Later, Elizabeth met with him in his office and admitted that she filled out that evaluation and was embarrassed by it. Ross and Elizabeth started going out, despite the university's rule that Ross could not date one of his students; Elizabeth's justification was that the semester was over and she wasn't technically his student anymore.

They went out for a few episodes and Ross was teased mercilessly by his friends, due to the age difference between him and 20-year old Elizabeth. These jokes included asking if Elizabeth could sell them Girl Scout cookies early this year, and saying that they were looking forward to her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Eventually, Ross took the comments a little more seriously and started to wonder if there could possibly be a future with Elizabeth. He decided no, and broke up with her. She threw a water balloon at him. Elizabeth was played by Alexandra Holden.

Answer: He was a customer at her restaurant.

Pete was a customer when Monica worked at the Moondance Diner in season three. This was the job where she had to wear a blonde wig and comically large fake breast inserts. In "TOW the Hypnosis Tape", Monica found out that Pete was a millionaire when she told her friends that he had asked her out a few times and written her a 'joke' cheque for $20,000, and Chandler recognized Pete's name as the head of a computer company. Monica angrily thought that Pete thought he could buy her, but she did end up saying yes to going out with him.

In the end, their relationship didn't work out when Pete set his eyes on becoming the Ultimate Fighting Champion and Monica couldn't stand to see him getting hurt in the competition.

Answer: She worked with Ross and Ross brought her to Joey's party.

Charlie was a professor in paleontology who worked at the university with Ross. She was first seen in "TOW the Soap Opera Party", when Ross showed her and another new colleague around town. Ross was interested in Charlie and brought her to Joey's secret (until his friends found out about it, anyway) rooftop party for his soap opera colleagues. Charlie ended up kissing Joey at the party, however, and they began dating.

Charlie was with Joey when the gang went to Barbados but realized during the trip that she and Joey were too different and didn't really belong together. Charlie then got together with Ross (and Joey with Rachel, for a brief time), but their relationship ended when Charlie's ex came on the scene and wanted her back.

Answer: Bonnie was friends with Phoebe.

After Ross and Rachel broke up in season three, Bonnie (played by Christine Taylor) was interested in going out with Ross and asked Phoebe about it. Phoebe ran it by Rachel first, and when Phoebe told her that Bonnie was bald, Rachel said that it was fine. When Rachel then saw Bonnie, she had a full head of beautiful hair and Phoebe clarified that Bonnie WAS bald previously but not anymore.

Rachel became jealous of the relationship and wanted to get back together with Ross. At the beach house, she talked Bonnie into shaving her head again, to try to put Ross off of wanting to date Bonnie. Rachel made it known to Ross that she wanted to get back together, and the third season finale, "The One at the Beach", ended on a cliffhanger when Ross walked into either Bonnie or Rachel's room and said 'Hi'. The season four premier showed that he actually said 'Hi' to both women, as they were both in the room together, but it was Rachel's room and Ross chose Rachel (though the getting back together did not last very long).

Answer: He worked for her at Ralph Lauren.

In the season seven episode "TOW Rachel's Assistant", Rachel hired Tag to be her assistant because she couldn't resist his cuteness, despite his lack of experience. She tried to be professional around him, but he learned a few episodes later that she had a crush on him, and they started dating while trying to not let it be an issue at work.

In "TOW They All Turn Thirty", Rachel was not happy about being thirty years old and started thinking about her life plan. She realized that, to meet her goals of marriage and having children, that she should be looking seriously for a guy that she would marry. 25 year old Tag who bought her a scooter for her birthday did not fit that bill, and she broke up with him. Tag was seen again at the beginning of the eighth season when Phoebe thought that he was the father of Rachel's baby (he wasn't) and he expressed an interest in getting back together with Rachel. He quickly changed his mind when she said she was pregnant and Tag was never seen again. He was played by Eddie Cahill.

Answer: At one of Joey's plays

In the episode "TOW the Butt", the group went to see Joey perform in the play "Freud!". After the play, Chandler saw Aurora, who had been in the audience, and decided to introduce himself. She found his nervousness charming and they went out.

On their date, Chandler found out that Aurora was married and had a boyfriend on the side. When he asked her what kind of relationship she thought she could have with him, she replied, "Mainly sexual". Not surprisingly, Chandler was all for continuing their relationship, but he soon began to feel like he wanted her all to himself. She wouldn't give up the other guys and so Chandler opted to not see her anymore. Aurora was played by Sofia Milos.

Answer: She was his roommate.

Joey advertised for a new roommate in season six, after Chandler had moved in with Monica, and chose Janine to move into Chandler's old room, based solely on the fact that she was hot. When his friends told him that he shouldn't become involved with his roommate, he tried not to like her and even tried to 'repel' her from liking him.

It didn't work and they started dating. Their relationship didn't work out, due to Janine not liking Monica and Chandler, and Joey refusing to choose her over them. They broke up and Janine moved out.

Fun Bobby was first seen in season one in "TOW the Monkey" when Monica invited him to her New Year's Eve party. It was clear that they'd had a relationship prior to this, but it was not said how they originally met.

Fun Bobby showed up again in season two when he and Monica started dating again. She realized that he had a drinking problem and got him to stop drinking, but giving up drinking caused him to become 'Ridiculously Dull Bobby', as Chandler put it. Monica found herself drinking just to get through the really boring dates with Bobby and he broke up with her, telling her that he thought she had a drinking problem and that he couldn't handle it. Fun Bobby was played by Vincent Ventresca.

Answer: He caught her using his police badge to impersonate a cop.

In the season five episode "TOW the Cop", Phoebe found a police badge in Central Perk. Before she got a chance to return it, she found she enjoyed making people do what she wanted by flashing the badge, such as getting a woman to apologize to a tree after she stubbed out her cigarette on the tree. She tried to use the badge on Gary for parking illegally, but it backfired when he revealed that he was a cop and it was his badge she had.

Gary tracked her down to Monica's apartment to ask her out, and they began dating. Though Phoebe initially thought it was too soon, she agreed to move in with Gary in "TOW the Ball". However, she ended their relationship at the end of that episode when Gary shot a bird that was chirping outside his window in the morning. Gary was played by Michael Rapaport.

Answer: They found each other on a mutual business trip in China.

In the first season finale, "TOW Rachel Finds Out", Ross had to go on a business trip to China (because someone had found a bone, and the museum wanted it... it was a "whole big bone story"). While he was gone, Chandler accidentally let it slip to Rachel that Ross was in love with her. After processing that information, Rachel decided that she wanted to pursue a relationship with Ross and went to greet him at the airport. Unknown to Rachel, Ross was getting off the plane with Julie, who he encountered at the dig in China and was now seeing.

Ross and Julie's relationship continued early in the second season, causing Rachel to be very jealous. A short while later, Rachel drunkenly Ross left a message saying that she was over him, letting Ross know that she had feelings for him. After thinking it over and making an ill-fated list of pros and cons, Ross decided to break up with Julie for Rachel. Unfortunately, Rachel found the pros and cons list and was hurt to see what Ross considered to be her flaws. She decided she didn't want to be with Ross after all, but of course she changed her mind a few episodes later.
