If you are a true "Friends" fan or Ross and Rachel fan then you will know the answer to this. Ross developed a crush on Rachel in high school and his feelings for her never really went away even after he met and married Carol. Thankfully after his divorce and Rachel dumped both Barry and Paolo, Ross was finally able to act on his feelings.

In the episode, "Ross' New Girlfriend" in season 2; Joey talks to Rachel about Ross' feelings for her. This is after Rachel discovers how Ross feels about her and she realizes she has feelings for him too. Joey tells her that she should tell Ross how she feels despite the fact that he is with Julie because Ross has been in love with her for 10 years. Of course she tries to tell him but he mentions how happy he is with Julie so Ross isn't aware of Rachel's feelings for awhile longer.

Ross had just found out that Rachel had feelings for him after finding out he had feelings for her. He was with Julie at the time, having met her in China while there for his job. Ross was having a hard time dealing with the fact that he had feelings for two amazing women and that they both loved him back.

He and Julie were planning on getting a cat that they both would share. While there, Ross realized that he couldn't get a cat because he wasn't sure who he wanted to be with, Rachel or Julie. He went to Central Perk where Rachel was closing up for the night, they had a confrontation, Ross left and Rachel locked the doors telling Ross she now had closure.

She sat down on the couch and cried and when she stood back up, she saw Ross standing at the doors. Rachel smiled as she approached the doors, unlocked them, opened them and stood there staring at Ross. Ross started back at her in the pouring rain as he suddenly pulled her into a kiss.

It was incredible and beautiful.

Ross first met Rachel when they were in high school. Rachel was best friends with his sister Monica. This was around the time he developed a crush on her but we know it was much more than that.

In "The One Where Rachel Finds Out", Rachel is celebrating her birthday. Ross had left earlier that day for China so he wasn't able to attend. Rachel begins opening her gifts and she comes to the one from Ross. She opens it to find a beautiful cameo pin.

She can't believe that Ross remembered the story she told him about her grandmother having one just like it when she was a little girl. Rachel saw this as an incredible gesture and couldn't believe Ross would do something like this. Chandler then spills the beans about Ross' feelings for Rachel. Needless to say she is speechless.

Ross and Rachel's first date didn't go so well. They saw a movie together and then came back to Rachel's apartment. When they realized they were alone, they began kissing and fooling around. But Rachel was so nervous that she kept laughing every time Ross would kiss her.
Later Rachel felt bad, so she talked to Ross and they arranged a second date as to which Rachel described as "A romantic dinner with wine and candles and then back to my place for dessert."
But things didn't go as planned once again, Ross got called into work, so they went to the museum. Rachel waited for Ross to get done but by the time he did, it was to late to go anywhere. So Ross had an idea for them to sit on the floor in the planetarium, with juice boxes, music and stars above them. It was the perfect setting for their first time. Although when they woke up the next morning, they were lying in each others arms but they weren't in the planetarium, they were in one of the displays. They were literally caught with their pants down in front of a group of Catholic kids and nuns. It was really funny.

I thought Jennifer Aniston looked particularly beautiful in this episode.

I thought this song was the perfect choice for their first time. It's an incredibly sexy and romantic song and the lyrics fit their relationship perfectly. Now every time I hear it I think of Ross and Rachel.

Ross requested this song for Rachel after she got angry at him for making a list of "reasons not to be with her". It didn't work of course, and she remained angry, even going as far as calling the radio station and telling them what Ross had done. They refused to play the song anymore after that.
