All the sisters were plagued by guilt after a fire burned down the Gamma Psi house. That guilt only got worse after an investigation revealed that source of the fire was the candle that Rebecca lit. A fairy tale ball was put together to raise money to rebuild the house. Out of a sense of obligation and not to look suspicious, ZBZ decided to attend. The girls appeared confident since there was no evidence tying them to the fire. However, Ashleigh had held onto Katherine's clipboard since it was evidence that the scores from the "Songfest" competition were rigged. The girls buried the clipboard deep in the woods. They buried it so deep that they got lost trying to find their way out.

Unfortunately, Casey could not figure out which among the dozens of keys was the one that opened the door to the chemistry lab. Hours later, Casey and Rusty made it inside with the help of Cappie.

In the Fraternity Cheerleading competition during Greek Week, the Omega Chis and the Kappa Taus had the same cheer. This led the Kappa Taus to believe that through Calvin's friendship with Rusty, Calvin had stolen the cheer to give to the Omega Chis. Cappie barred Calvin from the Kappa Tau house and removed Rusty from the relay race. Dale realized that the cheer was from a 1998 movie called "Cheer It Forward". It was revealed that the Kappa Taus and the Omega Chis got the idea for the cheer after two of the respective fraternities' brothers' little sisters seen the movie and passed along the cheer to them. "Cheer It Forward" was a spoof of the 2000 film "Bring It On". According to Dale, a poorly received sequel followed "Cheer It Forward" in 2000 called "Cheer It Backward". This was also a spoof of the 2004 sequel to "Bring It On" called "Bring It On Again". Fun Fact: In 2006, actor Jake McDorman (Evan Chambers) starred in the third "Bring It On" film called "Bring It On: All or Nothing" playing the role of the quarterback boyfriend to Hayden Panettiere's character.

When the guys arrived at the house, they were greeted by Kappa Tau Gamma Rush chair Wade, who was holding a butcher's knife in his hand. He ordered that everyone who has heard of Kappa Tau's reputation to leave immediately, which left Rusty and Calvin alone in the dark house. Wade then led the two scared freshmen outside to a wild and crazy party secretly hosted by Kappa Tau. He said that they prefer "virgins". It is at this party that Rusty met both The Beaver and the Kappa Tau Gamma President Cappie. Rusty also has his first taste of tequila. Calvin met Kappa Tau brother Heath which led to them hooking up later on.

Actor Kadeem Hardison guest starred on "Greek" playing the role of Ashleigh's father Brian Howard. Kadeem Hardison was best known for starring on the show "A Different World" playing the character of the nerdy Dwayne Wayne. Ashleigh's father arrived at ZBZ to celebrate Father-Daughter weekend. Also there were Casey's father Russell Cartwright (Jerry Lambert) and Rebecca's father former senator Ken Logan (Thomas Calabro). Casey and Rebecca's fathers first appeared during "Freshman Parents' Weekend" in season one. The three dads were dragged into the feud between Rebecca, Casey and Ashleigh. The ordeal began when Rebecca revealed that she had kissed Ashleigh's boyfriend Fisher at the "End of the World" party. To place some of the heat off of her, Rebecca also mentioned that Casey had known about it which caused friction between Casey and Ashleigh.

Last semester, Frannie left ZBZ and formed the Iota Kappa Iota sorority. She also took half the sisters at ZBZ with her. In order to recover from that loss, new ZBZ Rush chair Casey needed to get at least 25 new pledges. Unbeknownst to Casey, Ashleigh had conspired with Rebecca for her to go undercover at IKI and feed ZBZ information for Rush. When Casey learned of their plan, she was skeptical of Rebecca's intentions but nonetheless went along with them. The information Rebecca provided was false which led Casey to suspect that she was working for Frannie all along. To everyone's surprise, Frannie knew that Rebecca was a mole and had intentionally fed her false information. By the end of Rush, ZBZ got 20 new pledges. In her time with IKI, Rebecca managed to lure two additional pledges bringing the total to 22. She also managed to steal Frannie's prized hairbrush from the movie "Titanic".

Dale was in the Honors Engineering program like Rusty but was an Electrical Engineering major while Rusty was a Polymer Science major. Casey was an English major and Cappie has had a variety of majors including Latin, Physics, Biology and Psychology. This led to a running gag in season one that when after Cappie stated facts about a certain subject, he would explain it by saying "I used to be a (insert subject) major". Frannie was a Pre-Med major but was unable to graduate on time because she failed to take the necessary classes so she had to repeat her senior year. Her inspiration to become a doctor was the show "Grey's Anatomy" and she hoped to become either an "Izzie" or a "Meredith". Evan was a Pre-Law major who planned to attend Harvard Law like his father and grandfather.

The band Plain White Ts from the suburbs of Chicago were heavily featured on the ABC Family series "Greek". The group consisted of De'Mar Hamilton (drums), Tom Higginson (vocals), Tim Lopez (guitar), Dave Tirio (guitar) and Mike Retundo (bass). Their song "Our Time Now" served as the theme of the show. The band themselves has appeared on several episodes as musical entertainment for various parties mostly Kappa Tau's. The band played many of their own songs including the Grammy nominated "Hey There Delilah". Dave and Tom played Kappa Tau Gamma brothers who just happened to be part of a band in episode twelve "The Great Cappie". Cappie asked them to sound proof the basement for the secret party and after they could use it for their "disturbingly loud" band. Sarcastically, Cappie would go on to say that their band would be hugely successful and that they would be big rock stars. The band started their own clothing line and their own web series called "Meet Me In California" which aired on the ABC Family's official website.

He gives life to the character Homer Simpson on the long running series "The Simpsons". Dr. Hastings makes two appearances in season one. The first in episode two "Hazed and Confused" and the second in episode seven "Multiple Choice".

Cappie on the other hand was willing to put Casey over his desire to win. He agreed to pitch Casey easy hits. Casey had the choice to either to strike out or hit the ball. In the final inning, the bases were loaded when Casey went up to bat. She had two strikes before she hit a home run to win the game.

Casey took over as ZBZ's Pan-Hellenic representative. Pan-Hellenic president Katherine opposed the annual "Undie Run", an event where Greeks ran across campus in their underwear. She went so far as to penalize sororities that took part in the event. To overturn Katherine's decision, Casey needed to get at least 500 signatures. With the help of Evan, Casey got her signatures and overturned Katherine's ruling. To appease Katherine, the students donated their clothes to charity.

Some of the scenes from the episodes "Take Me Home, Cyprus-Rhodes" and "From Rushing With Love" mirrored scenes from the pilot episode of "Greek" which chronicled events before and after Rush. The scene in "Take Me Home, Cyprus-Rhodes" where Rebecca dragged Ashleigh and Casey into a bathroom stall was similar to the scene in the pilot episode where Casey dragged Rebecca into a bathroom stall where she secretly offered her a bid. In "From Rushing with Love", Wade dropped his cleaver from the top of the stairs to scare the rushees similar to what he did during last rush in the pilot episode except the cleaver bounced off the floor. When asked about his football experience, Rusty claimed to have played in Little League. Rusty also said as much during Rush in the pilot episode. The scene where Casey was meeting with all the sisters in preparation for Rush, she said this line "Ladies, we have a reputation to uphold...lie". Casey also said this line in the pilot episode.

Towards the end of season one, Ashleigh had gotten a credit card so she could pay for spring break. When Ashleigh received her bill, she was surprised to realize that she owed $1,300.27. When Casey looked at the bill, she told Ashleigh that her card was not a credit card but a charge card and she had to pay the entire amount. If she could not get $1,300, Ashleigh had the face the unthinkable prospect of having to get a job and resigning as ZBZ's social chair. Luckily, the Omega Chis were holding a casino night with the grand prize of $2,000. She and Casey enlisted the help of Rusty and Max to learn how to count cards. This episode featured many references to the 2008 movie "21" which was about a group of MIT students who counted cards to make money.

Rusty felt alienated by his fellow Kappa Tau pledges because of his issues with Jen. When the time came for the pledges to come up with their pledge project, Rusty wanted to be involved as much as possible. Unfortunately, Ben, Pickle, Gonzo and the others were envious of Rusty's past success and close relationship with Cappie. Rusty came up with the idea of a computer game. The pledges were not too keen on the idea since they had no knowledge of computers and as a result Rusty would get all the credit. After the failed "Swing-a-ling", Ben and the others wanted Rusty to convince Cappie that it was the best they can do. When Rusty spoke to Egyptian Joe, he decided to make the game that he called "Kappa Tau-tris"; based on the actual game of "Tetris". When he presented his game to the other pledges, they were not surprised. Pickle and Gonzo even had a bet to see if Rusty would actually make the game. Rusty really wanted to do a project that involved all of the pledges' talents so they came up with the idea of a makeshift brewery named the "Kappa Tap". The first beer that they made was called the "Cappie-weiser" and Cappie had the honor of drinking it first. Despite the beer's bad taste, their efforts impressed Cappie and the other brothers.

Rusty's assistant Dana predicted that Rusty's project was not as great as everyone made it out to be, and Rusty was too arrogant to see it. Rusty realized that Dana was right and declined to do the interview.

In an effort to curb the sisters' advances, Ashleigh made up the story that he had a girlfriend and that she had herpes. Her name was Vivian and she was a design student. With the sisters uninterested in Fisher, it left Ashleigh the only one pining for him. After speaking to Casey, Ashleigh decided to pursue a relationship with Fisher. Fun Fact: The other three choices are the first names of actresses Amber Stevens (Ashleigh), Tiffany Dupont (Frannie) and Spencer Grammer (Casey).

Rusty and the Kappa Tau pledges were studying the histories of all the Kappa Tau actives. When they came to a brother named Joshua Whopper, none of the pledges knew anything about him. Rusty suspected that Joshua was Cappie. Cappie would tell Rusty the truth behind Joshua. Joshua was a computer program created by the 1984 Kappa Tau pledge class as their pledge project. The pledge behind it was a nerdy freshman named Lasker Parks. Every year the program would hack into the university's computer, randomly enroll "Joshua Whopper" into large classes and automatically give him an "A". Joshua's purpose was to ensure that Kappa Tau kept the minimum grade point average to stay open. Rusty's investigation almost caused Joshua's identity to be exposed but Cappie pretended to be Joshua in order to take an exam. Despite Cappie never taking the class which was Gender Studies, he managed to get an "A". In the process, Cappie realized what led to the downfall of his and Rebecca's relationship.

ZBZ consultant Lizzi stated that she would leave the house if Casey and the rest of the sorority reinstated Frannie. Her actions in response to Jen's article caused her to be suspended. Last semester was the last time anyone saw Frannie until Lizzi and Casey found her performing community service at a local mental hospital. Frannie appeared remorseful over what she did and wanted forgiveness from the girls especially Casey. Casey was not buying into Frannie's act and refused to let her back in but pressure from the rest of the sisters that wanted Lizzi gone got the best of her. A diamond ceremony resulted in Frannie's reinstatement into the sorority. Frannie was ready to move back into the house until Casey read the ZBZ "Rules and Rituals Handbook" that Lizzi gave her. Rule 57Q stated that the ZBZ president had the right to place recently reinstated sisters on probation. House rules barred any sisters on probation from living in the house. Frannie obliged but before leaving she cited Rule 62 which limited a sister's probation to no longer than three months.
