Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cappie and the Kappa Taus were the first people to come to the ZBZ's kissing booth looking to get a kiss.

Answer: False

The administration placed new rules and regulations upon all the fraternities and sororities at Cyprus-Rhodes because of the article. Since Jen K., a Zeta Beta wrote the article, ZBZ became the most hated house on campus. In an attempt to take off some of the heat placed on her, interim president Casey came up with the idea of a "Back To School" carnival with all the proceeds going to Dean Bowman's favorite charity. ZBZ decided to do a kissing booth but no one would even come near them while Tri Pi, who also decided to do a kissing booth were getting non-stop customers. Dale happened to be passing by and stopped to get a kiss from Casey.

Unfortunately, he sprayed his breath freshener in his eye and had to leave to get medical treatment. He did let Casey keep the $5. Seeing the girls down and out, Cappie and the gang came to the rescue. Cappie ended up sharing a kiss with Casey which did not please Rebecca or Evan who just happened to come to the ZBZ's booth.
2. Which two members of the band Plain White Ts had speaking roles during season one of "Greek"?

Answer: Tom Higgenson and Dave Tirio

The band Plain White Ts from the suburbs of Chicago were heavily featured on the ABC Family series "Greek". The group consisted of De'Mar Hamilton (drums), Tom Higginson (vocals), Tim Lopez (guitar), Dave Tirio (guitar) and Mike Retundo (bass). Their song "Our Time Now" served as the theme of the show.

The band themselves has appeared on several episodes as musical entertainment for various parties mostly Kappa Tau's. The band played many of their own songs including the Grammy nominated "Hey There Delilah". Dave and Tom played Kappa Tau Gamma brothers who just happened to be part of a band in episode twelve "The Great Cappie". Cappie asked them to sound proof the basement for the secret party and after they could use it for their "disturbingly loud" band. Sarcastically, Cappie would go on to say that their band would be hugely successful and that they would be big rock stars.

The band started their own clothing line and their own web series called "Meet Me In California" which aired on the ABC Family's official website.
3. What was the name of the Kappa Tau pledges' final pledge project?

Answer: Kappa Tap

Rusty felt alienated by his fellow Kappa Tau pledges because of his issues with Jen. When the time came for the pledges to come up with their pledge project, Rusty wanted to be involved as much as possible. Unfortunately, Ben, Pickle, Gonzo and the others were envious of Rusty's past success and close relationship with Cappie. Rusty came up with the idea of a computer game.

The pledges were not too keen on the idea since they had no knowledge of computers and as a result Rusty would get all the credit.

After the failed "Swing-a-ling", Ben and the others wanted Rusty to convince Cappie that it was the best they can do. When Rusty spoke to Egyptian Joe, he decided to make the game that he called "Kappa Tau-tris"; based on the actual game of "Tetris".

When he presented his game to the other pledges, they were not surprised. Pickle and Gonzo even had a bet to see if Rusty would actually make the game. Rusty really wanted to do a project that involved all of the pledges' talents so they came up with the idea of a makeshift brewery named the "Kappa Tap".

The first beer that they made was called the "Cappie-weiser" and Cappie had the honor of drinking it first. Despite the beer's bad taste, their efforts impressed Cappie and the other brothers.
4. What rule from the Zeta Beta Zeta "Rules and Rituals Handbook" did Frannie use to counteract the ruling that she could not move back into the ZBZ house?

Answer: Rule 62

ZBZ consultant Lizzi stated that she would leave the house if Casey and the rest of the sorority reinstated Frannie. Her actions in response to Jen's article caused her to be suspended. Last semester was the last time anyone saw Frannie until Lizzi and Casey found her performing community service at a local mental hospital. Frannie appeared remorseful over what she did and wanted forgiveness from the girls especially Casey. Casey was not buying into Frannie's act and refused to let her back in but pressure from the rest of the sisters that wanted Lizzi gone got the best of her.

A diamond ceremony resulted in Frannie's reinstatement into the sorority. Frannie was ready to move back into the house until Casey read the ZBZ "Rules and Rituals Handbook" that Lizzi gave her. Rule 57Q stated that the ZBZ president had the right to place recently reinstated sisters on probation. House rules barred any sisters on probation from living in the house. Frannie obliged but before leaving she cited Rule 62 which limited a sister's probation to no longer than three months.
5. In one scene in the episode "Freshman Daze", Casey found a photo of her and Evan but when she unfolded the photo, Cappie was also in it. Which flashback was shown next?

Answer: Cappie, Casey and Evan having a conversation in the dorm

Episode 15 "Freshman Daze" featured many flashbacks to events that occurred two years prior to the series debut. Casey, at that time was a pledge at ZBZ when she met Cappie and Evan. At that time, they were both Kappa Tau pledges. She started dating Cappie and formed a friendship with Evan. Cappie's partying got in the way of their relationship and Casey started to lean more towards Evan.

At the Greek Ball, Cappie and Evan had a big fight and Casey ended her romance with Cappie. Fun fact: Actress Spencer Grammer was a natural brunette but she dyed her hair blonde to play the role of sorority siren Casey Cartwright.
6. Evan was the only brother to disagree with Calvin's proposal that the Omega Chis should have a mixer with the Zeta Betas.

Answer: False

Ashleigh suspected that Casey was less than truthful when she said that she spoke to the Omega Chi president about a possible mixer. She had Calvin bring up the idea of a mixer at the next Omega Chi meeting. Almost all of the brothers agreed to the idea except Evan and one other unnamed brother.

At the mixer, Evan and Casey were assigned to check IDs which led to a big fight. Fun Fact: Actor Jake McDorman (Evan Chambers) came in second to Scott Michael Foster to play the role of Evan's rival, Kappa Tau president Cappie.
7. What were Rusty and Casey's parents' occupations?

Answer: Professors

Casey and Rusty's parents, Russell and Karen Cartwright were both professors. They visited during Freshman Parents' Weekend at the university. They both shared Rusty's nerdy personality which alienated Casey. To make matters worse, they did not care for Casey being involved in a sorority which made it hard for Rusty to tell them about Kappa Tau. Fun Fact: Actor Jacob Zachar originally auditioned for the role of Rusty's neurotic roommate Dale Kettlewell when he was unexpectedly offered the lead role of Rusty Cartwright.
8. Rebecca mentioned that her father hated biscotti but what did she say that her mother liked?

Answer: Chamomile tea

During Freshman Parents Weekend, Casey and ZBZ were preparing for the arrival of Rebecca's parents, in particular Rebecca's father Ohio senator Ken Logan. Since it was a highly publicized event, Casey wanted to make sure that everything was to the senator's liking. On the day of the event, Rebecca just happened to mention to Casey that her father hated biscotti and her mother liked chamomile tea with a twist of lemon.

This new information put Casey into a panic as she quickly hid the biscotti under the table. Fun Fact: The character of Rebecca Logan was loosely based on Jenna Bush, daughter of the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush. Jenna was a sister of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at the University of Texas at Austin, the same university that "Greek" creator Patrick Sean Smith attended.
9. How much money did Rusty raise in the Kitty Kennel Phone-A-Thon?

Answer: $300.00

Casey, Frannie and Rebecca coached different fraternities for the annual ZBZ Fest. A bet that the losers must clean the winning fraternity's bathrooms made the stakes even higher. Rebecca's overbearing attitude made life difficult for her fraternity Kappa Tau Gamma and especially for her personal assistant Rusty, who was appointed to her by Cappie. Rusty grew fed up with Rebecca's demands and verbal abuse but was advised by the other Kappa Taus not to say anything to Cappie because of the "guy code".

This culminated at the Kitty Kennel Phone-A-Thon when Rusty only managed to raise $2.00 even with Rebecca yelling instructions through the cage. In frustration, Rebecca took out her checkbook and wrote a check for $298.00. Adding that to the $2.00 Rusty already earned made his grand total $300.00.
10. What was the name of the Kappa Tau's pet snake?

Answer: Timmy

Timmy the python was the unofficial mascot for Kappa Tau. He was apparently supposed to be in the act with Rusty and Cappie during the Mr. Purr-fect contest. According to Rebecca, the highlight of the act was when Timmy would wrap himself around Rusty's neck. Timmy did not appear in this episode but he did make an appearance earlier in season one. Episode six "Friday Night Frights", Timmy escaped from the Kappa Tau house and hid in the Omega Chi house where he ate the rat that Calvin and Evan were searching for.

He also scared Calvin and Evan when he fell from the chandelier onto Evan's shoulders. Luckily, Timmy would find his way home by the end of the night.
11. How many ZBZ actives were barred from participating in Spirit Week due to lack of study hours?

Answer: 1

ZBZ was celebrating Spirit Week which was to celebrate the fact the CRU Titians made it to the basketball championship finals. Unfortunately a few girls were barred from participating due to lack of study hours. Mandi, Brenda, Rebecca and Ashleigh were on the list. Mandi, Brenda and Rebecca were pledges while Ashleigh was an active. Ashleigh claimed that planning Spirit Week took time away from her studies which led to Casey to pardon her which did not sit well with Rebecca and the other girls.
12. When Rusty needed help on what to do with Tina, which two people did he NOT get assistance from?

Answer: Dale and Casey

Rusty was in a relationship with Tina which was mostly sexual and he didn't know how to handle it. Cappie dubbed their relationship as "fun buddies". He meant to say another word that started with the letter "F" but a nun was in close proximity. Cappie told Rusty that that kind of relationship was an once in lifetime opportunity for him and he should stay with Tina. Rusty then went to Casey but she refused to discuss the matter with him because she claimed that it would be too weird to talk about sex with her little brother. Casey left him in Ashleigh's care and with her vast knowledge of "Cosmopolitan" articles got him to question whether that kind of relationship was what he really wanted. Rusty decided to break up with Tina and practiced with The Beaver on how to break up with a girl over the phone.

When that did not work out, a girl at the Omega Chi party told Rusty to break up with Tina in an email. Rusty did not know what to type so The Beaver and Heath sent Tina a text message on Rusty's phone.

She agreed to end the relationship and told Rusty that she had crabs. Dale nor Wade appeared in this episode and Rusty did not consult Rebecca.
13. Dale willingly accompanied Rusty to Trish's party.

Answer: True

During practice with his fake ID, Rusty got a bartender named Trish to believe that he was a singer named Chad Stewart. She invited him to a party and Dale happily tagged along. At the party which was later revealed to be a wedding for Trish's sister, Rusty was asked to sing one of Chad's songs.

A song entitled "Hunter's Heart". Dale seemed to be greatly amused seeing Rusty squirm. Before Rusty embarrassed himself even further with his tone deaf singing, an argument ensued between the bride and groom which allowed him and Dale to make their escape. Fun Fact: Even though his character has no experience behind the microphone, Jacob Zachar has actually sung in a few bands varying from punk rock to blues.
14. Which statement was not a fact about Ashleigh's "Hot-Ness Monster"?

Answer: He was a Cyprus-Rhodes University student

Ashleigh first met her mystery man when he accidentally tripped her during a party. He blamed his giant clown feet and made it up to her by opening her beer with his sandal. She told Casey that "I just met the man I'm going to molest" despite not getting his name.

She began her search for the man she dubbed the "Hot-Ness Monster". She encountered him again on the beach. She did not get his name but she did snap a picture of him on her phone. Unfortunately, the photo was blurry. Ashleigh recruited her fellow sisters and with her photo continued to search at a concert.

She saw him again and called out "Hey hot guy" but he did not hear her. When she went closer, she tripped on his sandal. The guy was shown to have taken out a Cyprus-Rhodes University hat and put it on.

His connection to the school was not revealed which left a major cliffhanger to end season one. The identity of the "Hot-Ness Monster" would be revealed during season two of "Greek".
15. What newspaper was the reporter that called Rebecca from?

Answer: "The Washington Post"

During spring break, a man called Rebecca from "The Washington Post". At first Rebecca believed that he was asking for a subscription. He told her that he was a reporter and he would like to talk to her about a certain matter. Shortly thereafter, Rebecca was shown visibly upset and on the verge of tears. Later that night, a drunken Rebecca took the stage to participate in a wet t-shirt contest.

When Cappie and Casey tried to stop her, she lashed out at them before she ran off. It was revealed later that Rebecca's father was implicated in a prostitution ring and that was what the reporter wanted to speak to her about.

The part that hurt Rebecca the most was that a reporter not her father was the one to break the news to her. Rebecca's actions thereafter would play a big part in future events in season two. Senator Logan's prostitution scandal was eerily similar to what actually to New York Governor Eliot Spitzer in 2008.

As a result of his actions, Spitzer resigned as Governor.
