1. What/who was Kirby named after?

John Kirby is a lawyer who defended Nintendo in a trial that almost got the company disbanded. As thanks for saving them, they named their newest character after John Kirby. If it weren't for him, we would have no new Nintendo games today.

When Kirby has something in his mouth, he will swallow it when Down is pressed on the D-Pad. If the enemy has an ability, Kirby will copy that ability and will be able to attack other enemies with it. Such abilities are Fire, Beam, and Spark. Kirby can also spit what he has in his mouth out to attack as well.

There are five in total. The Ultra Sword changes into multiple items that hit almost everything on the screen. The Monster Flame summons a dragon made of fire in the direction you are facing. Flare Beam summons a ball of energy that you control around the screen. The Snow Bowl turns Kirby into a big snowball that you can control the speed of; you can also jump with it. The Grand Hammer changes from normal hammer to big to huge. It also destroys everything on the screen.

Kirby's adventure (this time around) is quite unorthodox. An evil entity known as Necrodeus uses a magical staff to split Kirby into ten smaller Kirbys, each one with a tenth of the power of the original. Although he nearly succeeds in squashing all ten of the squishy, pink protagonists, one survives thanks to a powerful star that whisks him away. Collecting one hundred fruit points at any point in the game will add one Kirby to your party to a maximum of ten. Many levels require a certain number of Kirbys to enter and their performance in each level will determine the type of medal you get at the finishing door.

If you look in the background, you can see a lot of characters from older Nintendo games in the audience. King Dedede became Kirby's friend in "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards".

Cupid is an ability that originated in this game. It allows Kirby to slowly fly through the air without inhaling air and shoot arrows. How long Kirby charges it determines how fast and high it goes. If fully charged, Kirby will shoot three arrows in different arcs. The arrows also have the ability to cut strings. The ability is known as Angel in the Japanese version, but was changed to Cupid in the translation because of a religious misconception. It is also in "Kirby Squeak Squad".

Although these miniature Kirbys are weaker than one full-fledged Kirby, they will be able to sustain a bit of damage before floating off to the big, poofy clouds in the sky. When hit once, that particular Kirby will turn blue to indicate that they're on their last legs. If hit again, they will faint and a small Kirby spirit will begin floating to the sky. You can save these little guys though-- throw a surviving Kirby at the spirit to ground it and bring it back to a solid, blue form. Any Kirby can refill its health by passing through a regenerative ring. Most of these are about halfway through a level. Kirbys start every level with full health.

You get nothing if you beat him fifty times, and nothing happens when you collect all the medals. Beating Drawcia unlocks Waddle Dee. Also, since King Dedede is an enemy to Kirby, he is considered a bad guy as well as a good guy.

In Milkyway Wishes, Kirby must find the ability's icon before he can use it. The 19 abilities are scattered throughout each of the seven planets of Milkyway Wishes. The copy ability is found on a star and not one of the planets.
