Answer: FIRE

F + ire = Fire

Ire means anger, fury, enragement, exasperation. IRE is also the abbreviation for the island of Ireland or bodies that represent it.

Fire is a chemical change that releases heat and light; it can mean to detonate, discharge. The word can also be used in relation to feelings.

There are several films with the word fire in the title. My favorite film is "Chariots of Fire", 1981. It is a British movie based on real events, which tells the story of two athletes at the 1924 Olympics.
2. F + balm = purpose

Answer: Function

F + unction = Function

Unction can refer to a ritual healing, an ointment, something that serves to soothe. It is a term widely used in certain ceremonies or ecclesiastical rituals.

Function is the purpose that justifies the existence of something, which in French is called "raison d'etre". Function is the usefulness of something, the task that someone or something must fulfill. It is a word of wide usage in mathematics and in computing.
3. F + one cardinal point = a celebration

Answer: FEAST

F + east = Feast

East is one of the cardinal points that is 90° clockwise from due north; it is the direction in which the sun rises.

The word party can refer to a meeting with food and entertainment or a civic, religious celebration, etc. Feast or parties in general resemble joy. When we see something we like a lot we say it is a feast for the eyes.
4. F + not flexible = icy

Answer: FRIGID

F + rigid = Frigid

The word rigid can refer to something that is not flexible or that does not move, or it can refer to people who are inflexible, unadaptable, unable to adapt to new situations.

Frigid is used in relation to people who lack affection, enthusiasm, warmth or sensibility.

The word frigid can also refer to extremely cold. I was in Stanley in July last year but I was unable to go site-seeing.. Every time I tried to leave, I went back inside because I couldn't face the frigid morning.
5. F + musical instrument = type of glass

Answer: FLUTE

F + lute = Flute

Lute is any plucked string instrument with a neck and a deep round back enclosing a hollow cavity. It is an intermediate instrument between mandolin and an acoustic guitar. It was one of the most commonly played instruments of European music of the Renaissance era.

Flute is a tall narrow wine glass, used especially for champagne. It is also a musical instrument consisting of a tube with a row of holes that produce sound through vibrations caused by air blown across the edge of the holes, often tuned by plugging one or more holes with a finger. It is one of the oldest musical instruments in history. Although the width of the tube and the extension have changed over the years, its principle has always been the same, it is played horizontally and its music is very soft.
6. F + flight path = an unobstructed passage

Answer: FAIRWAY

F + airway = Fairway

The word airway has several meanings: a regular route of travel for aircraft, any passage in a mine for ventilation purposes. It also refers to a vital part of our body: the passage that takes air from the mouth or nose to the lungs.

Fairway can refer to an unobstructed passage and also to one of the component areas of golf courses. In addition, it is the name of several cities, islands and also a version of London's Austin FX4 taxicab.

Fright attacks can happen even in mundane occasions, such as meetings with coworkers, in which the subject has to face the choice of staying their ground or fleeing.

The word lame is an adjective meaning disabled, crippled, with some disability. Lame can be used as a foolish, not socially adapted. But if the word lame takes a diacritic accent, it turns to lamé, the noun of a shiny fabric woven with metallic threads.

Flame is the visible signal of combustion; it is a stream of hot, burning gas from something on fire. Flame means fire, glow, brightness. Flame also means intense feeling, great emotion.
