quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Shag Are

Answer: Sugar

Sugar added to ingredients gives cakes their sweet flavour. Never mind the waistline. Honey is a good substitute in some cakes.
2. Bee Tun Hicks

Answer: Beaten Eggs

Beaten eggs help to make cakes light and fluffy. As they're also considered to be healthy to eat, why you're not having a calorie laden cake at all. You're having fine, healthy protein.
3. Sylph Rays Ink Flaw Her

Answer: Self Raising Flour

Flour gives cakes their body, as well as adding to your own. Self raising flour already has the necessary ingredients added to it to make cakes rise.
4. Bat Tar

Answer: Butter

Now what would a cake be without lovely rich butter to give it that extra flavour? This of course couldn't possibly be considered fattening because butter is made from cream, cream is made from milk, and we all know milk is full of calcium.
5. Bike Ink Sewed Are

Answer: Baking Soda

The official name for baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. This wordy substance acts as a leavening substance in your cake mix, helping with the rising process. The rising process in my house is when someone rises up off a chair and goes into the kitchen to get another slice of cake.
6. Sin Amen

Answer: Cinnamon

Cinnamon gives a nice spicy flavour to some cakes. It's obtained from the bark of trees native to south-east Asia. Cinnamon is actually amazingly good for us. It has anti-viral properties, but even more interestingly, a study of the product in 2011 has revealed that one of its extracts inhibits Alzheimer's Disease in mice. Hopefully they can work on this so that it can also be used to prevent this dreadful disease attacking the minds of humans. For the purpose of this quiz, however, cinnamon helps us to remember not to let our cakes go stale, but to eat them while they're fresh.

7. Sprang Culled Knit Mig

Answer: Sprinkled Nutmeg

Nutmeg sprinkled on the top of various cooking productions imparts a lighter and spicier flavour to many cakes and it also appeals to olfactory senses as well. It is a spice obtained from the fruit of trees in Indonesia. Such was its value at one stage in history that the Dutch fought a terrible war with the people of the islands there to control its production. That's a rather terrible thing, don't you think? Though this spice is indeed delicious, too much can be harmful.

8. Shock Lit

Answer: Chocolate

Oh yum. Chocolate tastes delicious, and, what's more, it's also shown to have potential health benefits. There is still debate going on about this, but it's said to release happy chemicals in the brain and also improve heart health. Therefore, a chocolate cake, my friends, is the very epitome of a healthy meal!

9. Sol Tern Errs

Answer: Sultanas

What's that? You say we should eat fruit as well every day? No problems, my friends. A lovely rich fruit cake full of delicious nuts and sultanas and currants - and even the most determined dietician would surely be satisfied with us!
10. Coke Are Not

Answer: Coconut

Bless us all. Some ground coconuts sprinkled on top of the healthy dairy product of a cream covered cake - and what could be healthier? It's good for cholesterol, may contain anti-cancer compounds, and oh, my goodness, listen to this! This is absolutely amazing! During the Second World War, because of the unique properties contained in coconut juice, it was mixed with blood and used for "emergency transfusions". That is truly remarkable. I must do a separate quiz on it. And to think it tastes good too!
