Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. We Are Volts

Answer: Werewolves

Werewolves are normal homans who turn into wolves when there is a full moon. They have always been regarded beasts of myths, but in the Harry Potter books, they are part of life. We are introduced to Remus Lupin, the Defense Against The Dark Arts professor, in the Prisoner of Askaban, and he's a werewolf too.

A likely theory to how werewolf myths came about would be rabid wolves. Rabid wolves behave in the way people perceive werewolves behave: diabolically possessed, fiendish and relentlessly attacking, etc. Rabies is transmitted through the bite of an animal that is carrying the virus in its saliva. It is transmittable to humans, and this might have led to the belief that if a werewolf bites a person, they would become one too.
2. Mint Her Far

Answer: Minerva

Minerva McGonagall is the Tranfigurations professor, and she's also the Deputy Head Mistress.

Minerva is the Roman Goddess of Wisdom, the equivalent to Greek Goddess Athena, I suppose.

McGonagall IS rather wise, and also, she has showed her more 'fun' side in OotP. Remember the 'it unscrews the other way' comment?
3. Blood Gears

Answer: Bludgers

Bludgers are black balls used in Quidditch, the wizarding sport. They mostly fly around trying to knock players off the broom.
JKR has said that she came up with quidditch right after a huge row with her now ex-husband. From that we can infer that she was probably imagining him getting pummelled with the bludgers over and over and over and over...
4. Are A God

Answer: Aragog

Aragog is the giant spider, namely the acromantula that was reared by Hagrid whilst he was in school. Aragog now lives in the Forbidden Forest with his numerous children.

His name may be related to Gog and Magog, which among other things are the names of two giants in English legend, with ara- for "arachnid".
5. Quit Blur

Answer: Quibbler

The Quibbler is the magazine of which Luna Lovegood's father is the editor. It prints "important stories he thinks the public needs to know." It is interesting that Luna doesn't care about her own image, but does care what people think of her father's magazine.
6. Read A Skater

Answer: Rita Skeeter

Ah! Rita Skeeter. The horrid journalist who destroys reputations and spins blatant lies about innocent people. JKR said something about having a lot of fun writing Rita Skeeter in OotP during her book reading. Can't blame her, after all the troubles she has been having with reporters, especially a certain one who would not be mentioned here.
7. Haste Ere Joints

Answer: Hestia Jones

Hestia Jones is one of the Order members who was part of the Advance Guard that was escorting Harry to Grimmauld Place in OotP. She seems to be a pureblood, as we can see her "laughing at a potato peeler" and is found near the toaster, which we can assume that she had been tinkering with.

Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth. She is also known as Vesta (Roman). Although an important deity in Greek religion, she is rarely depicted in art, and has virtually no mythology and iconography.

This echoes how we don't know anything about Hestia Jones and don't see much of her at all.
8. Stop Be Portmen

Answer: Stubby Boardman

Stubby Boardman is from an article in the Quibbler where Doris Purkiss claims that Sirius Black is, in fact, just an "innocent singing sensation."
9. Hip of Gripe

Answer: Hippogriff

A hippogriff is a mythical creature with the head, wings, and legs of an eagle and the hindquarters of a horse. In these books, a proud and demanding creature that requires a person to show respect before they can approach it.
10. Dentist Grieving

Answer: Dennis Creevey

Dennis is the younger brother of Colin Creevey. He fell into the lake and was rescued by the squid, and is quite the "midget" or rather "tetchy" as Ron might say.
