If I had to choose a favourite insect, it would be this one, the praying mantis. They come in a variety of colours from brown and green to white and pale shades of pink or yellow. Their colouration helps provide them with fantastic camouflage, as they're usually the same colour as the plant that they live on.

The name "praying" mantis comes from their typical sitting posture. They sit with their two spiky front legs raised, waiting to catch unsuspecting spiders or other insects.
