Answer: Fear

In the first scene of the movie the undertaker, Bonasera, asks Don Corleone for justice for his daughter. After granting this favour, Don Corleone replies 'And if by some chance an honest man like yourself made enemies they would become my enemies. And then, they would fear you.'

Answer: Three

While 'The Godfather' was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, it only won three on the night. These were for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay. Marlon Brando, winner of the 'Best Actor' award did not attend the ceremony, sending Native American activist Sacheen Littlefeather as his representative to decline the award.

Al Pacino also boycotted the ceremony, feeling that he should have been nominated for Best Actor, rather than Best Supporting Actor, having more screen time than Brando.
