More than anything else perhaps, he was noted for his search to find the source of the Nile River. Though he ultimately failed to do so, this long search led him to discover many other startling features of the African continent hitherto unknown to the western world.

All this is accompanied by the enthusiastic cheering of large crowds. Oh so jolly to watch such barbarity to be sure. Finally the bull, bleeding and desperate beyond all measure, is finished off by the kindly toreador - and the crowd goes wild with delight. Supporters of this incredibly cruel form of entertainment describe it as an art form which is culturally important to their country. No doubt Jack the Ripper also saw his murderous acts as an art form too.

Nirvana to some is a condition where no more suffering can be experienced. In the Hindu faith, it means a melding or union with a god or being.
