Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What college did Dee attend?

Answer: University of Kansas

Dee graduated with a degree in Education. She put that degree to work at Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She was only a teacher for a few short years in the 1970s.

The University of Kansas was first opened in 1866. It was built on ground donated by former Governor Charles L. Robinson and his wife Sara.
2. What film was Dee working on when her husband Christopher passed away?

Answer: The Frighteners

Dee was filming in New Zealand with director Peter Jackson. She was playing one of the villains in the film. The other villain was killing people by causing them heart failure. Dee's husband, Christopher Stone, passed away from a heart attack while filming was in progress. Christopher and Dee were married for 15 years before he died.
3. What surname was Dee born with?

Answer: Bowers

Dee was born in Kansas City, Kansas on December 14, 1948. Dee's parents' names are Robert and Maxine Bowers. Dee went to Wyandotte High School. Ed Asner was also an alumni of Wyandotte. Dee married Christopher Stone in 1980. They had one daughter.
4. Dee Wallace is one of the original "Scream Queens". In what film did Dee play the mother of an infant daughter hunted by cannibals?

Answer: The Hills Have Eyes

Dee starred as Lynne Wood in this 1977 film. The film was directed by horror legend, Wes Craven.

SPOILERS: Dee's character was one of the victims of the cannibals. She was killed and her baby abducted. Luckily, her husband retrieved the baby from the cannibals. He, as well as her brother and sister, also got revenge for the death of Lynne and their parents.
5. Dee played the role of Karen White in the 1981 film "The Howling". Who played the role of her husband in the film?

Answer: Christopher Stone

This was not the first project the two had worked on together. They were both also involved in the film "Cujo". "The Howling" was directed by Joe Dante. The film was about a news reporter who was attacked and bitten by a werewolf. She was on a retreat to help herself recoup from the trauma the attack caused.
6. Besides teaching and acting, what other career has Dee had?

Answer: Author

By 2013, Dee had written three books. One of the books she wrote was called "Bright Lights". Dee talked about the lessons that acting taught her in life. I read the book and found it extremely informative. It also gave me a better sense of who Dee is. I once met her at a Horror Convention and she was very engaging.

She signed a picture to me that said "Bite Me". The picture was her from the film "The Howling".
7. In what 2013 direct-to-DVD film did Dee portray the role of Lilith?

Answer: Hansel & Gretel

The film was a take on the Brothers Grimm fairytale. Lilith lured Hansel and Gretel into her home. The two soon realized Lilith's intentions were not good. She intended to use the two in her culinary creations. Lilith and her sons made meat pies for a living. They abducted nearby people to fill her pies. This film reminded me a great deal of the Tim Burton film "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street".

The film was directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. The film also starred Brent Lydic and Stephanie Greco as Hansel and Gretel.
8. Besides working in films, Dee has also worked in television. In which 2004 film did she play the role of Sharon Rocha?

Answer: The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story

Dee played the role of Laci's mom, Sharon. When Laci first vanished, her entire family supported Scott. They had no reason to believe he was responsible for the death of their daughter. He was later declared guilty of the murder of Laci (and the fetus she was carrying).

Dee has always been one of my favorite actresses. She played the role of the grieving mother well.
9. In the 2007 remake of "Halloween", what role did Dee play?

Answer: Cynthia Strode

Dee played the role of Cynthia Strode in this film. She was the adoptive mother of Laurie. She was extremely protective of her daughter.

SPOILERS: Michael, Laurie's estranged older brother, came to the Strode home looking for Laurie. He first killed Mason, Laurie's dad, and then Cynthia.

This remake is one of my favorite films. The cast was stellar especially, in my opinion, Dee. She brought that overprotective yet fun-loving aspect to the role of Cynthia. She is one of the main reasons I enjoyed the film as much as I did.
10. Dee has worked several times with director Rob Zombie. Their first film together was the 2007 film "Halloween". She was also in his 2009 film "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto". What was the name of the third film they did together?

Answer: The Lords of Salem

"The Lords of Salem" had a limited release in the spring of 2013. Dee played the role of Sonny in the film. The film was about a young woman who discovered that she was a witch in a previous life.

In several interviews, Dee has stated that she thoroughly enjoyed working with Rob. You could see the chemistry the two shared in the interview. Dee has done a stellar job in her many years of acting.
