Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Weep no more my lady."

Answer: "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby"

This is one of my favourite songs. She sang it over years. The oldest recording I own is from 1940.
2. "Your cares fly away."

Answer: "Get Happy"

From the movie "Summer Stock". This song was shot a few weeks after the movie was finished, because the studio bosses decided she had to slim down. It became a real showstopper.
3. "President Coolidge is a cousin of mine."

Answer: "Maybe I'll Come Back"

She always sang this song at the end of her show. Only 26 episodes were produced. It wasn't a success because "Bonanza" was aired at the same time.
4. "The stars have lost their glitter."

Answer: "The Man That Got Away"

This song was nominated for an Oscar, but it lost to "Three Coins In The Fountain". I never will understand why the Academy chose this foolish song as a winner.
5. "Ding-dong, ding-dong do you hear the bells go ding-dong?"

Answer: "For Me And My Gal"

Title song from the movie. It was Gene Kelly's first movie, set during WW1. It was Judy's first adult part.
6. "I'll be there no matter when or where."

Answer: "Through The Years"

Judy once said that this was her favourite song.
7. "Although when shadows fall I think if only somebody splendid really needed me."

Answer: "If Love Were All"

This song was written by Noel Coward and is one of my favourites. She first sang it in the remarkable Carnegie Hall concert in 1961.
8. "There's a pirate known to fame."

Answer: "Mack The Black"

I became a Judy Garland fan when I first heard that song about ten years ago. It is from the movie "The Pirate" which was directed by her second husband Vincente Minnelli.
9. "Light up your face with gladness, hide every trace of sadness."

Answer: "Smile"

A beautiful song written by Charlie Chaplin.
10. "Someday I'll wish upon a star."

Answer: Over the Rainbow

I think there's nothing to say about this song.
I hope you enjoyed the quiz and thank you for playing.
