Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Steve had a few guest starring roles on television in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Pick the show he was not on.

Answer: Melrose Place

Steve had a guest starring role on "Just Shoot Me" during the run of the series from 1997 - 2003. "Strangers with Candy" was on from 1999-2000 where Steve also appeared. Steve was a correspondent on the "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" from the third season (2001 - 2004).
Steve was never a guest on "Melrose Place". I think Amanda would have eaten him alive!
2. In 2003, Steve appeared in a movie about God where he nearly stole the entire show from the main star. What was the name of that movie?

Answer: Bruce Almighty

In 2003, Steve starred with Jim Carrey in "Bruce Almighty". Jim played Bruce Nolan, who played along with Steve Carell's character (Evan Baxter). Both were news reporters. Once the news actor retired, both Bruce and Evan tried for that job. "Cellular" (2004) starred Kim Basinger and Chris Evans.

This movie dealt with a young man getting an emergency phone call on his cell phone. "Sean of the Dead" (2004) starred Simon Pegg. This Zombie movie was very entertaining. "Blade: Trinity" (2004) starred Wesley Snipes is the final installment of the "Blade" series.

This movie had Blade helping to track the ultimate vampire.
3. Steve had two feature films premiere in the USA in the same week of 2004.

Answer: True

The two movies in 2004 that Steve was involved in were "Sleepover" and "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy". In "Sleepover", Steve played an over eager security guard named Officer Sherman. "Sleepover" was a movie about four friends who were trying make friends with the popular crowd by entering a scavenger hunt.
In "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", Steve played Brick Tamland, a news reported with not enough smarts. This movie was about an anchorman from the 1970s (down to the flaired pants) who had to deal with a woman (Christina Applegate) trying to be a news anchor.
4. In the movie "Over the Hedge"(2006), Steve's character, Hammy said that he liked what food item?

Answer: Cookie

Hammmy said "But I like the cookie" even after RJ (Bruce Willis) told him that cookies were junk. He repeated this a total of three times within one minute. This must mean he liked cookies. While Hammy did collect nuts, he never said he liked them. Hammy had tried dirt and he didn't like it as it "tasted like dirt".

While "Spam" was mentioned in "Over the Hedge", no one really admitted to liking it.
5. Steve was in a great comedy film in 2005 called "The 40 Year-Old Virgin". The movie had a small role for Steve's real life wife. What is her name?

Answer: Nancy Walls

During the filming, Leslie Mann was married to Judd Apatow, the chief writer of "The 40 Year-Old Virgin". Steve was also the co-writer on this movie. Catherine Keener was married to Dermot Mulroney and Mindy Kaling played Dave's (Paul Rudd) old girlfriend. Steve married Nancy Walls in 1995.
6. Steve's wife was a correspondent on "The Daily Show".

Answer: True

Steve's wife (Nancy Walls) did hold a correspondent job at "The Daily Show" during 1999 - 2002. Steve was also a correspondent during that time.
7. Steve won a "Golden Globe" award in 2006 for what character?

Answer: Michael Scott in "The Office"

Steve won a "Golden Globe" in 2006 for his portrayal of Michael Scott in "The Office". He also won a "Television Critics Association" award for his portrayal. Steve was not nominated for his turn as Evan Baxter in "Bruce Almighty" (2003) or "Evan Almighty" (2007).

In "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" (2004), Steve again stole the show with his portrayal of Brick Tamland but the Hollywood Foreign Press did not nominate him.
8. Steve played Uncle Fester in the movie "Bewitched".

Answer: False

Steve played Uncle Arthur in the movie "Bewitched" (2005). "Bewitched" was a movie loosely based on the "Bewitched" TV show which ran from 1964 to 1972. The movie starred Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. Nicole's character was really a witch, while Will Ferrell's character was an actor trying to find a naive girl to play a witch in his show. Uncle Fester was from the movie "The Addams Family" (1991) starring the late, great Raul Julia and Angelica Huston as Gomez and Morticia Addams. Uncle Fester was played by Christopher Lloyd.

In this movie, con artists try to fleece the eccentric Addams family by saying one of them was long lost Uncle Fester. This movie was based on the television series of the same name that ran from 1964 to 1966.
9. Steve starred in what 2006 movie that won a "Screen Actors Guild Award"?

Answer: Little Miss Sunshine

Steve along with Alan Arkin, Abigail Breslin, Toni Collette, Paul Dano and Greg Kinnear enjoyed the "SAG" award in 2006 for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Steve played Frank Ginsberg, a suicidal man travelling across the country to enter his niece in a beauty contest.
Steve played a part in the other movies but they didn't win a SAG award.
10. Steve played Yorga Galfanikos on what failed 1997 TV series?

Answer: Over the Top

The show was called "Over the Top". A few other well known people were on it as well such as Tim Curry, Annie Potts, Liz Torres, Debra Jo Rupp and another of my favourite people, John O'Hurley. The show had Tim Curry chasing his ex-wife (Annie Potts) in New York City. Steve was a neighbour.
"The Dana Carvey Show" was on for five episodes in 1996. "Watching Ellie" debuted in 2002. "Just Shoot Me" was on television from 1997 - 2003. This was not a failed show.
