House, M.D. began in 2004, immediately launching British-born actor, Hugh Laurie, to international fame. Although he was already a household name in England, the role as Dr. House was arguably one of his more famous roles.
2. What was the name of Hugh Laurie's debut novel?

Answer: The Gun Seller

"The Gun Seller" was published in 1996, and is about a British Ex-army soldier unwillingly thrust into a terrorist organization. It is a piece of fiction, written by Hugh Laurie. A plan for the film is underway.
"Fortysomething" was the name of a telemovie that Hugh directed and starred in, while "The Paper Soldier" was his second novel. "The Gun Slinger" was my attempt at throwing you off. Did it work?

Answer: The Borrowers

"The Borrowers" (1997) was about a tribe of small 'Borrowers' living inside a family's house. John Goodman and Jim Broadbent also starred in the movie.

Hugh appeared in all of these movies. He played an English henchman in "101 Dalmatians" (1996), another English character in "Maybe Baby" (2000), but he used the same American accent in "Stuart Little" (1999) that would later be used for his role as Doctor Gregory House.
