Both Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda are renowned acting personalities and have an extensive filmography. Henry Fonda was born in Nebraska in 1905, and planned to pursue a career in journalism. He began acting, however, when he was 20, and didn't stop after that. Appearing in "The Farmer Takes A Wife" was only the beginning, as he would go on to participate in other well-known films such as "Jezebel" and "The Grapes of Wrath." Fonda was also a lieutenant for the United States Navy during World War II. After his return, he continued with his successful acting career. Fonda won his only Academy Award for Best Actor through one of his final films: "On Golden Pond."

Interestingly, one of Mr. Fonda's co-stars in that movie was his own daughter, Jane Fonda. Born in 1937 in New York, Fonda's interest for acting was sparked in her early 20s, which led her to pursue a short career as a stage actress, followed by her break as a film actress. "Klute" gave Fonda her first Academy Award of many.

Jon Voight, an Academy Award winner for his role in the 1978 drama, "Coming Home," had two children with actress Marcheline Bertrand, who he divorced in 1980. Some of Voight's film appearances include "Catch-22", "Enemy of the State" and "Ali." He is a multiple time Academy Award nominee, and has also appeared in television shows such as "24."

Voight's daughter, Angelina Jolie, followed her father's footsteps and became one of the most influential actresses of her time. Jolie has received multiple awards and honors, most notably an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for her performance in "Girl, Interrupted." Jolie married Brad Pitt shortly after the latter divorced from Jennifer Aniston. The relationship, known as "Brangelina," is said to have started while both were filming the 2005 movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." At the time of their divorce, Jolie and Pitt had six children, three of whom were adopted.

In addition to being an extremely talented actress, Goldie Hawn worked as a professional dancer early in her career. Some of Hawn's noteworthy films include Steven Spielberg's "The Sugarland Express" and "Private Benjamin," which earned her an Academy Award nomination.

Hawn's daughter, Kate Hudson, also became an actress and is now a Hollywood star as well. One of Hudson's most successful characters was Penny Lane in the 2000 film "Almost Famous," which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. From there, she went on to appear on several other movies including "Bride Wars" and "Something Borrowed."

American actress Bryce Dallas Howard's notable projects include her work in the "Twilight" saga, as Victoria, and "The Help." The latter movie helped her earn numerous awards, such as the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Born in 1981, Howard rose to fame in Hollywood after working in New York as a stage actress.

Her father, Ron Howard, is a talented American filmmaker, having participated in more than 50 films, either as an actor, director, screenwriter or producer, or having multiple roles within one film. Examples of his work include "Night Shift," "Osmosis Jones," Cinderella Man," and "The Dilemma." Howard has also appeared in television shows such as "M*A*S*H" and "The Simpsons." Howard co-starred in the 1976 movie "The Shootist," which was John Wayne's last.

Kirk Douglas was born in New York in 1916, and celebrated his 100th birthday on December 9, 2016. Douglas has received multiple awards and honors, including an Oscar for Lifetime Achievement, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom from U.S. President Jimmy Carter. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his roles in "Lust for Life," "Bad & The Beautiful" and "Champion."

Douglas had four children: two with Diana Dill (Michael and Joel) and two more with his second spouse, Anne Buydens (Peter and Eric.) Michael Douglas is perhaps the better known of Kirk's children, as he has appeared in many films and received multiple awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1988 for "Wall Street." "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," in which Douglas starred, also won an Academy Award for Best Picture in 1976. Douglas married actress Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2000.

Born Frederick Karl Pruetzel, Freddie Prinze was the son of a Puerto Rican mother and Hungarian father. His career as a comedian included appearances in "Chico and the Man," "The Midnight Special," and "The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts." Prinze, who suffered from depression, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Freddie Prinze Jr. starred in two "Scooby-Doo" movies as Fred, and has also guest starred in television shows like "Friends," where he played Sandy, the male nanny. In addition to his acting work, Prinze Jr. has worked with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as a producer and director, and has made sporadic on-screen appearances.

Martin Sheen was born in Ohio in 1940 as Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez from an Irish mother and Spanish father. A controversial celebrity, Charlie Sheen (born Carlos Irwin Estevez) has also appeared in "Anger Management." "Two and a Half Men," however, in which he co-starred with Jon Cryer, was one of Charlie's most successful endeavors, earning him recognition as the highest paid actor on TV.

Emilio Estevez has made a name for himself too; he has acted in productions such as "Young Guns" and "Repo Man," and directed episodes for "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY." Estevez was briefly married to Paula Abdul from 1992 to 1994.

Elvis Presley released albums such as "Elvis" and "Pot Luck," and is known for his many highly successful singles like "Can't Help Falling in Love" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" Presley was also known for his luxurious lifestyle, and his death was attributed to a heart attack caused by a drug overdose.

His daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was born in 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. She released her first album, "To Whom it May Concern," in 2003. Lisa Marie has also been recognized for her humanitarian and philanthropic efforts, receiving the Humanitarian Award from the World Literacy Crusade in 2002.

Frank Sinatra, son of Italian immigrants, was born in New York in 1915. One of his nicknames was "Ol' Blue Eyes," and he was married to four different women: Nancy Barbato, Ava Gardner, Mia Farrow and Barbara Marx. He divorced the first three, and he was married to Marx until his death. Sinatra used to dress lavishly, and is still known for his style.

Nancy Sinatra is one of Frank's three children. Nancy, born in 1940, had a not-so-bright career until 1966, when she released "These Boots Are Made for Walkin," which earned three Grammy nominations. "Somethin' Stupid," a ballad she sang in duet with her dad, was the first father-daughter duet to top the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

Will Smith became immensely popular after starring in NBC's "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Ever since, Smith has acted in many blockbusters including "Hancock," "Concussion" and the "Men in Black" saga. Smith received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his roles in "Ali" and "The Pursuit of Happyness."

Interestingly, "The Pursuit of Happyness" would also be the first film to star his son, Jaden Smith. He then gained more popularity by starring as Dre Parker in the 2010 edition of "The Karate Kid, which earned him a Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film.
