Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In episode "Some Enchanted Evening", Bart calls Moe and asks for "Al". When Moe responds "Al?", Bart says: "Yes, Al. Coholic.". And then Moe yells across the tavern in search of Mr. Al Coholic, provoking the laughter of the customers. What was special about this episode?

Answer: It was the first ever "Simpsons" episode to be produced

Aired in 1990, "Some Enchanted Evening" was the first ever episode produced of the series, although it was not the first to be aired. It is the 13th episode of the first season.

Moe told Bart "Listen, you little yellow-bellied rat jackass, if I ever find out who you are, I'll kill you!". And funnily, Homer told Moe: "I hope you do find that punk someday, Moe."
2. Another of Bart's prank calls happened in episode "Moaning Lisa", when Bart calls to the tavern looking for a Jacques Strap. Moe was tricked again into saying "jockstrap"! In this episode, as the title suggests, Lisa was very depressed, but that changed when she met Bleeding Gums Murphy, a musician that plays the same instrument as her. Which instrument is this?

Answer: Saxophone

"Moaning Lisa" was the sixth episode of the first season, and follows Lisa's depression and her using the saxophone to make it go away. When she meets famous saxophonist Bleeding Gums Murphy (played by Ron Taylor), she learns to express her feelings through music.

After Moe realized he was being pranked, he told Bart: "When I get ahold of you, I'm gonna cut you like a fish and drink your blood!"
3. In episode "Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk", Bart calls to Moe's Tavern, "looking for a Mrs. O'Problem. First name, Bea." Moe desperately yells for Bea O'Problem, provoking the laughter of the customers. In this episode, Mr. Burns sells his business to two German investors, hence the name of the episode. Which kind of business does Mr. Burns own?

Answer: Nuclear Plant

Mr. Burns is the only owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Somehow, Homer works as safety inspector of the plant, so when these German investors realize his incapacity, they fire him. When Burns, having issues with not having control, recovers the plant, Homer is rehired.

The fake name Bart provided spelled out "B.O. problem", or body odor problem, which is caused by excretions from the skin glands, as well as bacterial activity. A "B.O. problem" can be influenced by a variety of factors: lifestyle, food, drink, genetics, among others. Soon after Moe realized this was a prank, he said "When I get a hold of you, I'm going to use your head for a bucket and paint my house with your brains!"
4. There was one time in "The Simpsons" when Moe actually tried out as a teacher! This happened in episode "The PTA Disbands", where teachers did not attend school. Bart couldn't let his opportunity pass, so he modified the attendance list. Moe calls for Anita Bath while the classroom bursts in laughter. Why were the teachers absent?

Answer: They were on a strike

In episode "The PTA Disbands", a teachers' strike occurs, leaving Springfield Elementary in need for new substitute teachers. Mrs. Krabappel leads the protest against Principal Skinner, who made little effort to improve the school's quality. Poor Moe, after children laughed uncontrollably at him, he left the classroom crying.
5. In episode "Homer the Smithers", even Mr. Burns pranks Moe! (unintentionally, of course). Mr. Burns asks for "a Mr. Smithers, first name Waylon", and Moe, thinking it is another prank, threatens Mr. Burns. Which of these statements is NOT true about Waylon Smithers?

Answer: He is usually drunk

Smithers is an essential part of Mr. Burns' life, as not only is he his executive assistant, but has shown a profound affection for his boss. He has visited the gay village and has defended gay rights in a number of occasions. Barney is the character who is usually drunk.
6. Episode "Helter Shelter" showed the Simpson family living in a situation as if they were in 1895, and even in this kind of scenario Bart did not disappoint. Moe answers in his tavern, asking for a Heywood U. Kuddulmee. Which type of transmitter, which made Samuel Thomas von Sömmering famous, did Bart use to prank Moe?

Answer: Telegraph

"Telegram for Heywood U. Kuddulmee!" claimed Moe, and then, after he realized he was pranked, he humorously responded to Bart: "I'm gonna drive a golden spike where your Union meets your Central Pacific, stop!"

German anatomist Samuel Thomas von Sömmerring developed an electric telegraph in 1809.
7. Episode "The Way We Weren't", from the fifteenth season, narrated us the love story of how Homer and Marge first met, in a camp. In what might have been the first prank call in chronological order of "The Simpsons", Marge asks Moe for a Mr. Jagger Abdul-Jabbar. What is the first name of this false person?

Answer: Elvis

After Marge asks for Elvis Jagger Abdul-Jabbar, a name that mixes "the King" Elvis Presley, the vocalist of the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moe responds: "Hey, don't you try and prank me with a fake name! I will rip out your intestines and use them to make a lanyard! Hello? Hello? Ooh... and that's the origin of that. Yes."
8. Even the mob likes to prank poor Moe. In episode "Donnie Fatso", the chief of the Italian mafia asks for his Russian colleague Yuri Nater. Moe says "his mouth is begging for one" before Barney makes him realize what's going on. How is this times' prankster, leader of the mob, called?

Answer: Fat Tony

Moe yells at the phone: "I'm gonna chop you into little pieces and make you into a Rubik's cube, which I will never solve!" I bet he didn't know who he was speaking to!
9. In episode "Whiskey Business", Moe is suicidal, as he finds no reasons for him to live. Bart calls looking for Moe, but what was the last name Bart was looking for?

Answer: Ron

Haha, "Moe Ron". Even though Moe threatens Bart saying: "it's you, you little puke! I am gonna tie a rope around your neck, and hang...", he trips with the chair he was standing on and strangles himself. The thing is, he survived!

Moe's last name is Szyslak.
10. At this point we know people have been very mean to Moe, pranking him so much. So why not talk about other people Bart has phone-pranked? In episode "24 Minutes", Bart calls a character from a well-known television series, asking for Ahmed Adoud. Which fictional character, played by Kiefer Sutherland, did Bart prank?

Answer: Jack Bauer

Ahmed Adoudi is described as a wealthy Saudi financier who disappeared into Afghanistan in the late '90s. Too bad Jack Bauer fell too! He was so mad that he randomly fired a gun!
