Ross has actually worked for all four stations, but it was deputising for Janice Long on BBC Radio 1 that introduced him to a wider radio audience. He later presented a show on BBC Radio 2 for over ten years between 1999 and 2010, before leaving to host a TV chat show for the ITV network, although he returned to Radio 2 in both 2014 and 2015 as the stand in for Steve Wright.

"Turf" was written by Ross and illustrated by Tommy Lee Edwards who has worked on the "Batman" and "Hellboy" comic books among many others. It is a series of five issues, the first of which sold out its 20,000 print run on pre-orders alone and tells the tale of gangsters in prohibition era USA alongside aliens and vampires.

Surf and turf is a popular restaurant dish which combines seafood with red meat, usually steak.

Answer: Barbra Streisand

By the time of Streisand's appearance on "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross", she had amassed an incredible ten Grammys, ten Golden Globes and two Oscars but never appeared live on British TV. Ross dedicated a whole show to Streisand, having no other guests other than her being interviewed and performing tracks from her album, "Love Is The Answer" (2009), which reached number one on the Billboard 200 in USA, making her the first artist ever have number one albums in five different decades.

Answer: "God Save The Queen" by The Sex Pistols

This track from the Sex Pistols was banned by the BBC when it was originally released in 1977, but Ross was free to play it in 2005, when it combined his love of punk with the awarding of the honour and allowed him to show his sense of humour at the same time.

He was awarded his OBE by Prince Charles, who although he is a close relative of Her Majesty has never publicly expressed his opinion of the Sex Pistols.

Answer: Film

"Film", which was appended each series by the year of broadcasting began as a regional movie review show in 1971, but proved so popular that it went national with Barry Norman presenting the following year. Norman remained at the helm until retiring at the end of "Film '88" and Ross then became presenter from "Film '89" through to "Film 2010", when he was replaced by Claudia Winkleman. Ross has listed his all time favourite films as "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946), "Mulholland Drive" (2001), "Spirited Away" (2001), "As Good as It Gets" (1997) and "Gypsy" (1962) and once said that if a film of his life were to be made, he would want Dame Maggie Smith to play him.

Answer: Doris, The Ugly Stepsister

Doris is the drag queen styled bartender at the Poison Apple bar who is actually on Princess Fiona's side. She also appears in "Shrek The Third" (2007) and "Shrek Forever After" (2010) but was voiced just by Larry King in these movies. Ross also had a small role in the 1997 comedy "Pervirella" about a woman who turns into an insatiable nymphomaniac whenever her magical necklace is removed, and played himself in the Spice Girls movie, "Spice" (1997).

Answer: Jane Goldman

Goldman was also the co-screenwriter on "X-Men" movies, "First Class" (2011) and "Days Of Future Passed" (2014) as well as the 2007 fantasy movie, "Stardust" starring Claire Danes. She is a former entertainment reporter with "The Daily Star" newspaper and married Ross when she was just 18. Together they have three children, Betty Kitten, Harvey Kirby and Honey Kinney.

Answer: Comic Relief

Comic Relief was founded in 1985 by Richard Curtis, scriptwriter of movies such as "Bridget Jones's Diary" (2001) and "Love Actually" (2003) and Lenny Henry, comedian best known for hosting TV show "Tiswas" between 1978 and 1981 and appearing in TV sketch show "Three Of A Kind" (1981-1983).

The charity was started to tackle the famine in Ethiopia, but has since evolved to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice both in UK and abroad. Jonathan Ross, apart from co-hosting on the big day has also taken part, most memorably in 2015 when he competed in a special "Celebrity Bake Off" show, which saw him grilling a cake and describing his approach to the culinary arts as "avant-garde".

Answer: Andrew Sachs

Brand and Ross called Sachs, most famous for playing Manuel in TV show "Fawlty Towers", live on air for an interview. When Sachs didn't answer the phone, they left a series of messages relating to the relationship Brand had once had with Sachs' granddaughter, Georgina Baillie.

Although the show was pre recorded and so allowed plenty of time for editing, the messages were broadcast and didn't cause a stir. Ten days after broadcast however, "The Daily Mail" decided they were offensive and published an article about them, causing much consternation among readers about moral values in UK.

This article resulted in an inquiry by BBC. at the end of which, Brand and Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas were forced to resign, Ross was suspended without pay for three months and BBC was fined £150,000 by the UK's communications regulator, Ofcom, for airing the calls.

Answer: Fable III

"Fable III" had a star studded voice cast, with Stephen Fry, Ben Kingsley, John Cleese, Zoe Wanamaker and Michael Fassbender all lending their talents to the game as well as Ross. Barry Hatch is a servant to Reaver (voiced by Stephen Fry), who dies, when a female guest he has been chatting up at Reaver's Manor, turns into a Balverine and attacks him.
