1. Bruce Wayne was not Batman during this miniseries. Who took over the cowl?

Answer: Dick Grayson

Dick Grayson was the first Robin, and when Batman was killed in an earlier arc he was took over the cape and cowl for several months.

Dick became Batman and Bruce Wayne's son Damien continued in his role as Robin. Dick and Damien however didn't always see eye to eye.
2. Who was the first Black Lantern shown in the series?

Answer: Boston Brand

Boston Brand was the corpse that belonged to the character of Deadman.

His spirit had the power to possess any living being. When the Black Lantern ring reanimated his corpse, he possessed it temporarily before running to Batman and Robin for help.
3. The new Batman had no problem using a gun to fight off the reanimated Black Lanterns.

Answer: False

Dick Grayson held a similar feeling against guns as Bruce Wayne did - Don't use them.

He was less worried about using flamethrowers though. Both Batman and Robin armed themselves with flamethrowers to fight off the formerly dead bodies.
4. Which member of the Justice League informed Batman and Robin about the Black Lanterns?

Answer: Hal Jordan

Hal, or his alter ego the Green Lantern, neither directly appeared in the miniseries. It was however mentioned that Hal downloaded all of the knowledge the Green Lantern Corps had on the Black Lanterns into the Justice League computers.
5. The Black Lanterns tried to murder someone in front of Comm. Jim Gordon. Who was it?

Answer: His daughter, Barbara

Barbara was not only Gordon's daughter, but worked as the Oracle alongside the heroes. As the Oracle she served as a tactical and information hub for the crimefighters. Prior to being bound to a wheelchair she had worked as Batgirl.
6. What was special about the grave for Archibald Stanton?

Answer: It was a secret passage to the Batcave

The grave marker was in front of a mausoleum for Archibald Stanton. The character of Stanton had not appeared in the "Batman" mythos previously. It was never revealed if there was a significance to the name or if it was chosen at random.

Batman, Robin and Red Robin all used the tunnel to escape the Black Lanterns.
7. What did the Black Lanterns want from each of their victims?

Answer: To consume their hearts

The Black Lanterns use their rings to construct scenes that elicit emotions from their victims. The Black Lanterns attempt to cause as much pain and despair as they can only to then rip out the victims hearts and eat them when they are filled with rage.
8. What DC Universe character was Deadman sent to recruit?

Answer: Etrigan

Etrigan, the demon who shares an existence with the human Jason Blood, was thought to be the best solution to help defeat the Black Lanterns.

Blood was against helping, but Deadman control of his body, called for the assistance of Etrigan, and then briefly continued to control the body with the demonic powers.
9. Red Robin was killed in the fight against the Black Lanterns.

Answer: False

None of the heroes perished in this three-issue arc. In fact, no one who wasn't already dead, was shown definitively to die in this arc.

Several of the Black Lantern possessed corpses were destroyed though.
10. How did the Batfamily ultimately escape the Black Lantern attack?

Answer: Using one of Mr. Freeze's guns

Batman, Robin and Red Robin were each encased in ice with the use of a confiscated Freeze Gun from the Batcave.

Once they were on ice the Black Lanterns no longer could feel their emotions and began to back off.

When it was safe to escape Deadman possessed each man and helped them to break out of the ice.
