Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This comic strip used to be called "Little Orphan Annie." What was its name changed to?

Answer: Annie

The situations are up to date, but the cast remains the same. Punjab, The Asp, Daddy, and Sandy all join a "modern" looking Annie in this classic strip.
2. Changed to "Adam@Home," what was this strip originally called?

Answer: Adam

The story of a stay-at-home dad has become the story of a stay-at-home dad with a stay-at-home business.
3. This comic about con-men, started out as "The Pirahna Club." What was its original name?

Answer: Ernie

Ernie was a nebbish, surrounded by con men, like his uncle. They eventually stole the show. As you might of guessed they would.
4. One classic strip has been called "Dick Tracy" for so long, few remember what its original name was. Do you know what the original name was?

Answer: Plainclothes Tracy

So old that its trademark, the wrist radio, became dated, this strip still features ugly criminals with weird names who often die.
5. And finally, there's "Fritzy Ritz" -- a comic about a young woman and her romantic adventures. After a few years, however, a supporting character edged her out of the limelight and took over the strip and the title. What was this strip changed to?

Answer: Nancy

Changing times, changing interests. This happens all the time, by the way. Snuffy Smith inched out "Barney Google," and the "Pirahna Club" pushed Ernie to the side.
It even happens in comics. "The Shield," the first patriotic superhero in WWII, was pushed out of his comic by the teenaged star of the backup feature...a kid called Archie Andrews.
