S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division. It is an organization run by Nick Fury that keeps track of alien threats. In 2013, a TV show titled "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premiered that showed how the organization really worked, and brought back dead Agent Phil Coulson, who died in "The Avengers" movie in 2012.

Loki is the adopted brother of Thor from Asgard. Loki is the son of a frost giant, enemies of the Asgardians, but was taken in by Thor's father, Odin. His character is based on Norse Mythology. He first made an appearance in Marvel comics in 1949, and was a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Barry Allen is the second character to represent The Flash in DC comics. He first appeared in 1956 and has the power to run faster than the speed of light and travel through time. Barry once traveled back in time to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse Flash. This caused and event known as the Flashpoint Paradox that almost led to the end of the world.

Steve Rogers is the secret identity of Captain America. Captain America was originally active during World War II, but was frozen in ice and woke up decades later. Steve Rogers got his powers by being injected by an experimental serum that was kept secret. Later others would attempt to replicate this serum, and many would fail. Bruce Banner became The Hulk after failed experiments to make the serum in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kryptonite is a mineral produced only on Krypton. This mineral is Superman's only weakness. Normally Superman is indestructible, but contact with Kryptonite allows him to be hurt. Superman's identity is Clark Kent.
