Randle McMurphy was created by Ken Kesey in the 1962 novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". He was portrayed by Jack Nicholson in the 1975 film adaptation. Randle is convicted of various crimes and tricks the system into sending him into a mental institution in an attempt to have an easier sentence as opposed to serving time in jail.

However, the asylum is run by the evil Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher). Randle and Ratched face off in a series of games for power, and although she appears to lose initially, the nurse has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Gravity Falls is both the name of the show and the fictional town where Dipper and Mabel spend the summer.
